It's not your money. so why do you care? you should be happy if this report is true, and one of our best players is coming back.

Soooo, ok, go ahead and break the bank on a good, (not great) RB of which are plenty in the draft and FA? Don't save any $$ for the rest of our own FA's and other FA's for the defense, just over pay for what there's plenty of out there already?
I think there's a history of this with the FO already which has lead to a long drought of mediocrity. Done with that.
I like Murray, but love the team.

I don't see any money being spent on defense. we are not going after top guys on D.spending that money on more scrubs won't help this team. may as well pay to a proven play maker. they need to stop dragging this out and pay Dez and Murray.

Well, we have our own guys on D we need to consider re-signing and we'll probably be bring in additional rotational guys.

Murray's produced for us, no doubt, but seeing some of the holes that Randle got to run through, I'm willing to give the OL more credit than Murray.

Good news, Cowboys fans: It looks like DeMarco Murray might be returning to Big D.

Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reports that the talk around the league from several sources is that Murray will re-sign with the Cowboys.

Murray, a third-round pick by the Cowboys in 2011, led the league with 1,845 rushing yards last season. He also posted 13 touchdowns and 416 receiving yards.

Despite his strong stats and excellent season, Pro Football Talk reports that the Cowboys feel Murray’s success was due more to their strong offensive line than his individual skills. PFT also says the rest of the league appears to share the same belief, which would result in a soft free agent market for Murray.

Murray reportedly is willing to give the Cowboys a hometown discount, so it sounds like that may end up happening.

Update: DeMarco MIGHT NOT return to Cowboys...man this story gets wilder each minute...

Well Romo and Garrett have been vocal of wanting Murray back I hope they get what they want. Murray is more than a runner, he is a solid blocker, receiver as well as a tough runner. Fans can like or dislike that is each of our own views the fact Romo has said he has been in Jerry ear on Murray tells me what those who matter think about Murray

:facepalm:So what if it's not our money? We don't want his contract hurting the Cowboys in the future by overpaying him.

Seems like some of you guys root more for the salary cap superbowl, then improving the team. Jacksonville always has the most cap space, root for them

It's not a zero-sum game. There is always more money to spend. Signing Murray would have no impact on the rest of FA.

Many tweets today regarding locker room leaders wanting him back and the market not being big on him. I'm leaning on giving Jerry some credit in letting him go see this before opening the wallet. Not ball will be in teams court and can set the price.

You are absolutely correct, I actually hope they cut every player on the team so I can get a T-shirt, hat and Fathead that proclaim, more then $140M in cap space go Boys.

Wrong, the FO is trying to improve the team with bargain players and bargain contracts while resigning
their own players they desire to retain. That's the smart way to
build a team... When did the free wheeling free spending teams like Commanders, Jax, Jets, Miami win a SB.
Come on, get with the new program.

Im in agreement with you, it seems people get caught up in salary more so then improving our team. Jerry and Stephen have proven they can sign who they want, they are very good with the cap.

We aren't buying every FA out there. Going after a Hardy is fine is when you start buying every top free agent is when you get in trouble.

Example Philly dream team

Hardy is on the commish' hit list for suspension. Teams know that and you haven't heard anything about him.
Cowboys won't be players for Hardy... Keep an eye on Adrian Clayborn. He's no1 on Will McClay's hit
parade.
