I hope Murray is back but not counting anything until they sign a contract.

@fishsports: If you are a DeMarco fan, this is a rough day. If you are a DeMarco-please-stay-with- #Cowboys fan, so far so good. @1053thefan

@fishsports: Sounds like DeMarco's agent is having more talks with reporters than he is with teams. Cool. Increases #Cowboys chance. @1053thefan

Seems more and more likely we will have an answer in 24 hours

If he leads the league in rushing last year and still winds up back here on an 'affordable' contract I think it validates what a lot of people here are saying about him - the rest of the league doesn't think he is anything special either.

The Colts need a workhouse back as much as anyone, have $38M in cap space, and supposedly backed out of the Murray sweepstakes before it even started.

Even if he does come back, I hope we don't ignore this year's RB draft class.

It's not your money. so why do you care? you should be happy if this report is true, and one of our best players is coming back.

It's not a matter of who's money so who cares, but a matter of a salary cap and how the money is being allocated. If this was baseball, I'd agree with you a 100%. Me personally, I'd rather spend money on either Dez or the D.

His link refers to Charles Robinson's tweet that is two day old.

You're correct...I just clicked on the article and saw today's date on that. Man journalists these days really work hard...take someone else's old info and pass it on as "news" a couple days later.

Who is Charles Robinson? There are so many reports of dubious quality out there right now!!

I think I will start some rumors under as assumed name myself just to read about myself

Murray might come back,,me might not,,,some reporting here.

Don't look that way....
Profootballtalk reports free agent DeMarco Murray is "willing to move on" from the Cowboys.
A source tells PFT that Murray "plans to take his time and be methodical in his thought processes." To us, it sounds like Murray's market isn't developing the way he thought it would. The "willing to move on" nugget comes across as an empty threat to a team that clearly isn't willing to meet Murray's price, which is reported to be $8 million per year. If Murray has other suitors, they're remaining mostly under the radar.

I need a better source than Larry Brown of Fox Sports Radio.

Let him stick to gossip! This is nothing more than click bait.

I don't see any money being spent on defense. we are not going after top guys on D.spending that money on more scrubs won't help this team. may as well pay to a proven play maker. they need to stop dragging this out and pay Dez and Murray.

I love Murray as a football player and as a person, he is everything you want in a Dallas Cowboy and he had a very special season last year, I enjoyed the hell out of it and it gave this team a serious identity.

Having said that, locking up 7-9 million a year, over 4-5 years in the running back position, does not seem like a good gamble to me or a wise way to spend your limited dollars.

There are just more reason not to do this then to do this at those kinds of numbers in a salary cap era for the RB position.

I don't believe Murray's last season can be replaced easily either, but I don't think we need 1800 yards out of one guy to keep teams honest and have a productive running game.

If Murray leaves, will we need more then we have left, obviously we will, but it seems like you could do that for a lot less dollars and the savings applied to the D.

My Heart says sign Murray (hate to see him leave), but I just can't get my head around it for those types of dollars.

Don't blame Murray one bit. go get your money man. as much as it will hurt the team i love. go get your money.cowboys had their chance to pay you.

Having stayed healthy only one season and playing behind one of the top if not the top OL's in the league Murray might not receive the big offers some think. As devalued as RB's have become it's going to be interesting to see how big an offer he gets.
