Rumors swirling that Brees could be headed to Tampa for top pick

In one of the craziest days in the NFL of recent memory, things may not be done yet. The Saints have already traded one of their biggest stars, sending Jimmy Graham to Seattle, now they may send Drew Brees out of town as well.



Things first started swirling immediately after the Graham trade. Armed with a pair of first round picks and apparently in rebuilding mode, the speculation was unavoidable.

By the way, for what it's worth, the Saints met with Jameis Winston at the combine. The Saints now have two first-round picks. That is all.

If the Saints do this, they should go the nuclear route and blow up the whole thing completely.

If you trade Brees for the #1 overall pick, why not just turn around and offer that #1 pick to Philadelphia and get as many draft picks to rebuild as you possibly can?

They could end up with a treasure trove of picks to completely rebuild their team top to bottom in a matter of two to three years.

Tampa taking on all that money.....and basically renting Brees for 2 years...then they are back to square one looking for a QB. That is so bad that i'd like to see it happen. It would be a train wreck of major proportions.
