Honestly... I hope he gets told all offseason how much he sucks.

If this guys is motivated he'll kill it.

Even Randy Moss couldn't overcome Oakland.

I like it.. Low cost.. High upside..

Plus, if we draft Gurley this will be a good thing.

I don't know much about Gurley or really anything about this draft class, but I've read that he's the best out of one of the deepest RB classes in years. Is he explosive?

2010 season

McFadden finished the 2010 season as one of the 5 most-productive NFL running backs despite playing in only 13 games. He had career highs in rushing (1,157 yards), receiving (506 yards), TDs (10 total -- 7 rushing, 3 receiving), and total yards from scrimmage (1,663 total yards). He had 6 games with at least 100 yards rushing, and a total of 9 games with at least 89 yards rushing. His rushing yards per game (89.0), total scrimmage yards (1,663) and yards per carry (5.2) were all ranked in the top 5 among NFL running backs.

And he's barely broken 700 yards and 3 yards a carry since.

Yeah no they didn't just sign him to cut him.

He has never made the team. They gave him a little bit of cash to stay on the practice squad and compete in camp. I hope he is the next Barry Sanders but let's stop acting like they just signed him to a real contract that means anything. They sign undrafted rookies also and then cut them.

Felix and Darren reunited behind our all world Oline. It's enough to make Jerry do bad things.

The Dallas Cowboys have made the decision that it is better business to spend their money on offensive linemen, and go cheap at running back as opposed to the other way around. I fully support this decision and question the judgment of those who think otherwise.

I don't know what the dollars are, but my guess is it isnt much. I'm not surprised by the overreaction in here, because I've been around here awhile. A 2 year contract for a guy that is 6 months older than Murray. This is a cover your bases signing. Now, they can wait out the RB draft if they want. Now they dont have to pull the trigger on 1st round back. They can help the defense if they so choose in round 1. This is a "we might cut Joe Randle" signing. Just another guy brought in, with some experience, that can run and catch the ball. A vet guy that understands the league better than a Randle or Dunbar or even Ryan Williams. Now, before the draft they have 4 guys competing for 3 spots. No pressure to draft a RB until they want to.

All the hand ringing over a 2 year contract for a guy that was a top 5 talent, hasn't turned 28 yet, and might benefit playing behind a better team and for certain a better O-line? Silly. For all his injuries, he has played in 83 of a possible 112 games in his career. Only once in 7 years has he failed to play less than 10 games in a season. Yes, he's nicked up alot, but this is a low risk high, reward signing.

no one has said yet that we're signing him for more than being a camp body. i'll wait for more details before I draw up every scenario possible and rag into them as if reality.

You know what was a more horrible move..

When we wasted a spot on Weeden at QB to back-up Romo, a QB coming off major surgery...

How can people have strong feelings about this move, one way or another, without knowing the financial terms?

I like it. Williams/McFadden/Randle/Dunbar means we can wait until the 3rd or 4th round in the draft to take a RB.

No, it means we don't have a starting tailback and still need one.

Guys... This signing reminds me a lot of Rolando McClain.

That guy was Super talented but he sucked in Oakland as well.

Get him in Dallas and he looks amazing.

This has a ton of upside with little risk and he wont even be the feature back.

Yes. He's a legit top 10 talent in this draft. The only worry or reason he may be at our pick is the ACL injury. He's got power and burst, even returned kicks for Georgia.

I like this deal. Oakland is the black hole of football, literally. Nobody succeeds there. They have no QB to take pressure away from the running game and they have to offensive line to run the ball down the throats of teams. We have everything we need for a top tier offense. IF he stays healthy, I'd make a bet he reaches 1,200 yards and 8+ TDs...

Everyone's dreams of drafting Gurley or Gordon should be put to a halt. It's not happening when we have Mcfadden/Williams/Randle/Dunbar already.

We're going defense or OL again in the first.

Don't make the mistake of judging McFadden by his last three years. The Raiders have gone 11-37 and most of the time, barely resembled a competitive football team. One of the worst area was the OL. Hard to judge anyone in that environment.

I don't see this deterring the Cowboys from looking at RB in this draft. If McFadden passes physical and is on the team believe me I'm pulling for him to show himself as the runner people felt he was coming out of Ark. Hope he comes in motivated after years of frustration in Oakland

Why are we giving two year deals away like they're Items at a garage sale ?

That has been a common approach for them on reclamation projects after getting burned by L Robinson. They sign a person that may have been on the trash heap and if they excel it gives them another ear to evaluate or sign long term or it allows them to get out of it easily. Usually there is very little guaranteed so unless they make the roster each year no harm no foul.

Exciting news! This guy was a 1000 rusher.... 5 years ago.

;)

Other 1000 yard rusher 5 years ago.... Cedric Benson, Peyton Hillis, Michael Turner, and Rashard Menhenhall....

;)

That's an excellent reminder of why we didn't want to pay big bucks to Murray. The average shelf life of an NFL running back is very short.
