Hardy update

Yep.

This has been a puzzling offseason where the team made really no effort, other than sit at the bottom of the barrel hoping someone would magically fall to them, to fix our biggest defensive need - pass rush. Now it's basically hope Lawrence becomes a stud and draft a guy early in the draft and hope he makes an impact. But we also need LBs and a TB.

The more holes you create and the less holes you fill even sifting through the bargain bin creates a situation where your need your draft to be a total home run. That's a lot of pressure to put on a draft.

The offseason has been puzzling for me. I am usually in step with what Jerry and company have done the last few years but they are taking the approach this offseason as if they dont' consider themsevles a contender needing one piece here or there to put them over the top or that they think they are just swell as is other some "depth" signings and that's enough to make the SB.

I think teams just want to know what his suspension situation is, and it is time for the league to get off their fat-@$$es and say "Greg Hardy will be suspended for ____ games to start this year". Is it really that hard, it's not like it is a new situation.

IIRC, the league was attempting to get info on the charges/evidence/testimony regarding Hardy from the court system. I can only imagine how long that could take. That said, I could also see the league intentionally dragging its feet on this as punishment for Hardy. No team is likely to touch him until it has clarification whether/how long he gets suspended. I'm pretty sure that if it was known that he wouldn't be getting suspended, he would have been signed by now.

Hardy is going to sign with Oakland. No way anyone outbids them for his services.

Agent: Greg Hardy drawing interest
Free-agent defensive end Greg Hardy has started negotiations with a team that does not want to be identified, and others are interested as well, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

At this point, Rosenhaus thinks Hardy will not only find a new team but also land a strong multiyear deal.

What's our relationship like with Ole' Drew. I know he was TO's agent.

You don't spend 8-10 million (or more if re-work some deal) of cap space just for the fun of it.

If some of you think these guys getting signed are worth the price they're getting vs what we have in space, please list them.

Jabal Sheard again at 5 mill. 2 year deal - seemed fair.

It sounded to me like there was more than one dysfunctional person in that altercation. Where there's smoke, there usually is fire, but that's a far, far cry from saying that everything she's saying is absolute truth and everything he's saying was a lie. She's got as much reason to lie as he does.

And, yeah, we need a pass rush. That's the truth.

"Women are crazy and men are stupid" as George Carlin use to say. Most courts tend to sympathize with the female when the crocodile tears start to appear. It's a fact. So I look at these domestic disputes with a raised eyebrow.

Bingo. He's one.

I am OK with Wilcox and Church but Rahim Moore got 3 years, $12MM. He'd have been an upgrade at S.

Tampa cut Michael Johnson, he was ok in Cincy, in 2012 he had 11.5 sacks. Maybe he could revitalize his career with us for the right price.

Whomever he signs with I would imagine they are at least talking to the league office to get some kind of idea what/if there is going to be anymore punishment.

I would love to see what he and Marinelli could do together!!!

Give me him and Rolondo and I will be OK with Brinkley and McFadden signings!

Team doesn't want to be identified? Doesn't sound like Jerry, he loves them headlines!

The entire case in a nutshell is that the DA dropped the case without trying to get a plea bargain. If he had anything at all to work with he would have used the bench trial conviction and threat of the jury trial penalty (and cost, which could be a million dollars) to get a plea bargain.

The fact he dropped the charges completely tells he had nothing at all to work with.

Rumor is he wants to go back to Cincy.

There will be plenty of headlines if he signs in Dallas, JJ knows this. I think it is Dallas, as they have liked to be low key lately.
