1.Is it just me that believes McFadden is starting RB?

2. How did he really turn out? Do we honestly know?

3. He is still young enough to be feature rb for us so why not?

I am posting this thread because I would like to know what people really think about him as a player?

Real deal answers. Backed up with real info and serious analysis?

Thanks

I think he will Rush for a solid 1,100 yards this year if we don't get AP.

Definitely not

This team isn't paying their starting RB 900k or whatever it is

We are a rushing team

The facts......................He has been in the league 7 years, been hurt every year, has rushed for 1000 yards just 1 time during those 7 years, and was benched in week 11 last season for Latavious Murray (a 6th round draft pick).

Yea, McFadden has "STUD" written all over him:laugh:

While they probably believe DMc has the talent to succeed on this team, I seriously doubt they put all their eggs in his basket. Expect a draft pick who will also be looked at as an option to start.

McFadden averages missing 4 games a year.

I don't think there will be a starting RB in Dallas this year. eve if we had re-signed Murray there wasn't a back on the roster that was going to carry the rock 380+ times this season. The coaching staff basically already said it at the end this past season. I honestly think that played a bit into the negotiations with Murray also. They knew damn well that working a RB to that degree isn't a recipe for long term success. Hence there was no need to invest that much money into one guy.

I think Randle may still be in the plans unless his legal troubles prevent him from being available. I'm not a fan of the guy as a person (too stupid for my liking) but there's no denying he got some game. I don't think you can rely on him as any type of feature back but his skills translate well to a complimentary back. I was watching the Seahawks game on rewind yesterday and I forgot how many significant play both he and Dunbar had made in that game (I believe Randle had the longest play from scrimmage with a 31 or 37 yard scamper. I can't remember which it was). The kid has some ball carrying skills. His TD run against Chicago was stunning. That lateral move at full speed to get back to the outside and score a TD when he was at a full sprint is ONE OF the most impressive moves I've seen any football player make ever

Again, I think the idea of a feature back in Dallas is pretty much dead this season unless they somehow land Peterson. I DO think they will address the position in the draft and that player may end up being the workhorse next season after acclimating to the NFL. Until then it's going to be a RBC approach and the "starter" is simply going to be the guy that takes the field on our first possession.

Understood completely :)

So I ask you... No benefit of the doubt from you for playing for raiders?

No. I would want a nice back in the draft... Agreed.

Unless we sign Peterson it's going to be open competition.

If everyone plays their best I can't see anyone outplaying McFadden unless we draft Gurley.

I could see that.

He will be either hurt or benched by week 6...................and don't anybody try to tell me it was Oakland, because freaking Latavious Murry totally outplayed his arse when McFadded was benched in week 11 last season. Even the Raiders got tired of watching McFadden suck.

OK. But there is a flip side. Maybe DM got tired of watching the raiders suck?

Lol

I think if McFadden winds up starting, we have been seriously hit by the injury big at RB. At which point, the FO would look like geniuses for this signing. Otherwise I see spot duty, gadget plays and possible return man.

Ok but up until this past year year Murray average about same amount of missed games per season. 11 missed games out of 48.

DeMarcos yards per carry go above DMF in the last two years.., behind this line,
Could DMF increase by same yard and half per carry?

If that's all the backs Dallas has to work with......then yeah, looks like McFadden is probably the starter, but I don't think Dallas is satisfied with the RB position at this point. Unfinished business still. He has been more fragile than Murray, and that's scary. Don't want to rely on Williams, Randle and Dunbar to lead this team. That would be catastrophic not only for the offense, but the defense as well that needs the O to run the ball.

BTW, Latavious Murray is a horse. I like his running style.

McFadden will surprise people behind this OL. He has homerun ability, something many people criticized Murray for not having last season.

A Randle/Ryan Williams platoon will be fine for the games Run DMC is inevitably out for.

He is a good player when healthy. There is no way to predict his health, but he has enough talent to succeed.

His is very good in pass protection.

He is still faster than Murray.

He has not fumbled much.

They won't give him the same amount of carries as Murray even if he is healthy. They really like Ryan Williams and will like add a RB in the draft.
