Is it just me that believes McFadden is starting RB?

I would think after a player has won or been on a winning team pretty much there whole life.....it has to become mental...and after losing for so long maybe it affected his game? Or maybe he sucks..maybe some of you are right and he sucks..even then it didn't cost the team much to know for sure..If he does get refreshed with a new team and finds a new desire to be great with this oline then they'll look like geniuses for what was a great signing....

Hoping this is true.

It seems we replaced one DM with another DM , LOL !

McFadden is still young , not too much wear and tear and has speed which Murray didn't and will have a good OL in front to block. Also he was healthy for 16 games last year. I'm cautiously optimistic , the combination of this DM and Williams and "too stupid for his own good" Randle can be viable running attack . One thing is I don't know how This DM fares in pass protection , that is very important

Yeah.. Saw that. Then started using DMF lol

I believe someone on here said he was good at that. Can someone confirm?

I just watched a lot of his clips and I followed him in college, in many of those clips he used a strong stiff arm to push defenders to the ground, and I watched him power into the LOS and move the pile on short yardage runs. Yes, there's a lot of breakaway runs in his clips which is a good thing especially running behind our oline which is the best in the league. McFadden is a big strong fast runner.

Thank you. Thank you. Was looking for that info :)

Perhaps with McFadden in the game, teams geared more towards defending the run, who knows....I just know that this guy had talent when in college, so with a fully functioning OL, I would hope his ypc is pretty good....even with the lowly raidahs, he averaged 4.1 ypc for his career, although his last 3 years were quite average

No real QBs to speak of. Yes I think you may be right. They focused on him.

Ask somebody from the Raiders or who follows the Raiders to explain it to you. He's now running behind the best oline in football with a top 5 QB and a top 3 WR, that's NOT the Raiders. Look at his skill set, his power, his speed, his blocking ability, and add it to our offense and see how it applies. Who gives 2 farts about what he did with the Raiders, it's about how he fits in as a Cowboy. Focus on that instead of looking for negative crap all the time. Just a thought!

Exactly!!! HIS "skill set" with our line. Our team. Romo handing off.

He was a great player for the razorbacks but even then he split carries a lot. His Arkansas teams had a solid Ol as well.

He could be a good rotational back here if they can get him plugged into the system and also plug in Wiliams as well. He was a plan B 2nd tier pick up for clear reasons so we'll see. I am worried about the lack of Callahan's coaching on the running game frankly.

1.Is it just me that believes McFadden is starting RB?

2. How did he really turn out? Do we honestly know?

3. He is still young enough to be feature rb for us so why not?

I am posting this thread because I would like to know what people really think about him as a player?

Real deal answers. Backed up with real info and serious analysis?

Thanks

Mcfadden is an explosive runner provided a hole is opened to get him to the 2nd level with minimal contact. He benefitted from a great line at Arkansas and I think he can be successful here, but I dont see him getting more than 200 touches. He wont be a short yardage back, nor the workhorse Murray was, but that's ok. He has the most pure talent on this roster and Im excited to see this battle in the preseason. I think we keep 4 rbs this year.

I wonder what fans of other teams thought of DM29 before his career year. Like DMC, he too was "injury prone" and hadn't really done much in his career.

DM29 is a good player, but is merely a product of our stud OL. I would say DMC is just as good (talent wise) but has not proven to be durable...just like DM29 until this year (If roles were reversed, I highly doubt DM29 puts up 1,845 yards in Oakland).

All that said, I think our 2016 starting RB will be drafted next month. Until then, I am willing to roll with RB by commitee - lead by DMC. Besides, the current SB champs just proved you don't necessarily need a fantasy league stud at RB to win it all.

By not overpaying for DM29's past services allows the Cowboys to put resources into other areas of need be it FA or the draft. To get a potential starter at RB for the amount the Cowboys did should be applauded.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I can tell you I had a fellow in my fantasy league that took him in the first round in 2012, then claimed he stole him the later he took him the next few years, only to meet bitter disappointment. I wonder if he takes him high again.

Murray was able to get allot of dirty yards to. Be real.

And he left a lot of yards on the field too running into contact. I'm not saying he wasn't good after contact, he was. But he had a ton of runs when that contact occurred 5 yards down field. And for all of the dirty yards he got maybe someone more explosive turns some of those into home runs once he gets to the next level.

I have no idea if that is still McFadden, we will find out.

My impression is he's a straight-line guy. Not much wiggle and shift. If it's clear, he'll hurt you. If he needs to adjust, he loses a lot of pace. But what do I know?

I said in another thread this morning I hope he isn't the starter and trust the FO to draft a young buck at RB. I think a kid like Ajayi or Johnson would be great. Team either one with Williams and McFadden and we are in business. Randle and Dunbar need to go IMO. But the fact they haven't cut ties with either one to this point has me concerned frankly.

As for McFadden, I think he has a good year or two left in his tank as a 3rd down back AND as others on here have pointed out, is very good in pass pro. SO......fingers crossed.

Undoubtedly talented enough to be a featured back. Anyone that doesnt believe that probably gets their info from past fantasy rankings.

His track record of durability is not good. Its real bad in fact. Its possible that running behind a great line helps him out, he stays healthy, and has 200+ touches, but i wouldnt bet on it.
