WR Dorial Green-Beckham declines visit with Cowboys

DGB probably figures Dallas has two established receivers and the chance they would take him in the 1st round are only slightly higher than them taking me in the 1st round.

Give me dorsett, that OSU kid over this guy. ..

We can't have an eagle scout team but I think we can only have enough headaches before it's all a distraction

Lets hope he rescheduled because to just blow off a team when they want you to visit is total bush league.

absolutely....just ask around at Mizzou and you'll find out all you need to know about him. He's a legend in his own mind, as the saying goes. Do you guys REALIZE how much BS you have to pull to get kicked off a D1 CFB squad with his kind of talent?

Yea, take a couple of mins to google him and some of the stuff you read sends up red flags galore.

Like you said, you have to do some serious BS to get kicked off a D1 squad with his talent level.

If I had to choose between 2 teams because of a conflicting schedule, I would probably choose the one with the higher pick.
Or more than likely a place where he would get a chance to be the #1.

Yes and no. A good bit of these visits are for show and posturing. If I was in his shoes and he had a chance to impress another team with a real need and they picked early in the draft, I would prioritize accordingly, choosing that team over the one who was likely using the visit for another purpose.

The fact that they are even looking at this guy makes me wonder about Dez long term future. DGB theoretically would be a number one. They aleady have Escobar for the red zone (again theoretically)

WR must be a consideration with or without Dez Bryant.

But that's not what was said. It said he declined the visit not postponed it. If he's declining visits to teams he feels are picking too late in the draft to acquire him he's a pro bowl level idiot.

Why would he be on our board to be invited in the first place? The guy is a multiple offender of rules & a knucklehead. "The fat stay fat, the hurt stay hurt, & the stupid stay stupid". Get this guy off our board, Stephen, & keep bringing in quality PEOPLE like Zack Martin.

Former Missouri wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham will be up for selection in the 2015 NFL Draft after transferring to Oklahoma and having to sit out a year.
Surely, he'll want to keep all draft options open for teams who might want to select him, including the Dallas Cowboys. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.
According to Ross Jones of FOXSports.com, Green-Beckham stiffed the Cowboys on a pre-draft visit. The reason is not exactly clear at this moment, but there's a few possible explanations.
One possibility could be that he simply doesn't like the Cowboys and wouldn't want to play for owner/GM Jerry Jones based upon the treatment of star wide receiver Dez Bryant. Bryant received the franchise tag and is still in search of guaranteed money after becoming arguably the league's best wideout.
Another possibility could be that he sees wide receiver Terrance Williams and Bryant as stars and doesn't think he'd be a good fit. He might also want to be the clear No. 1 receiver for the team he goes to.
And a last possibility is that he could have been told by other teams that he'd be a greater value to them. That includes the chance of getting drafted ahead of the Cowboys' 27th overall pick.

He declined it because he knows that the only way Dallas would draft him is if he was available in the 2nd round and he'll be long gone by then.

It's really just a waste of time for him.

Even if that's factually true, you don't go burning bridges before you are even drafted. He may become a free agent some day.

It's just plain politeness and courtesy to accept the visit. He clearly lacks both.

Probably his agent picking and choosing for him

DGB is a huge talent and an even greater head case.

This guy has had serious issues dating back to middle school, then high school, then college, then another college....

If it was a thin draft class at WR, he'd have some real leverage. But this could be one of the best draft classes ever at WR--I mean, several all-out athletic freaks and many real smooth operators at the position.

I heard on Yahoo Sports radio, the draft guy from Ourlads said they had spoken to a large number of NFL teams (but not all 32) and 30-40% have him off their board early. About half of that number have off the board entirely--meaning not even in the late rounds.

Someone will take him somewhere in the 1st-3rd round range, as it only takes one and he is an amazing athlete.

I'd say no chance Garrett would be on board taking him in the first. He's pretty adamant about having that first pick be a team leader type.
If by some wild chance he's there in the 4th or 5th, I'm not sure if he's all the way off the board or not.

I disagree.

If all 32 teams invite you then you shouldn't have to go visit all 32 teams.

He has a combine and pro day that they can go and visit him at as well.

If the player blows up and Dallas wants him someday then they will get him.

This is just Dallas doing their homework and DGB seeing it as a complete waste of time.

I don't think him declining a visit lowers or raises his chances of being a Dallas Cowboy.

Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. It's not like his production at Missouri was off the charts to even begin to offset the baggage that he comes with.

Best High School WR I have ever seen, too bad that it seems to be attached to a bobble head.
He has a higher ceiling IMO than White and Cooper. Now that means little if he cannot connect the dots.
