You and me both brother.

Assuming Gurley is going to go too early though... which RB do you want drafted?

Or, if you would prefer a trade up for Gurley rather than taking Gordon at 27 (or anyone else), then tell us that.

Trade up for Gurley. Put him behind this offensive line and let that running game terrorize NFL defenses for the next 5 years or longer. He is elite. No other runner in this draft is. And I don't just want a serviceable RB

i only caught the not trading any draft picks part of the Stephen Jones convo, so not sure how that relates to all of the RBs in the draft praying to be a cowboy

perhaps there were some comments on commitment to the running game coupled with the fact that Dallas has one of the, if not THE, best o-line in the NFL

Regardless of if MG becomes a Cowboy or not, I just liked the whole thing. He's a very likable guy. And if he were to come here, I'd be buying his jersey next weekend :)

I cannot disagree with that. Assuming the Cowboys - after doing their due diligence - feel about Gurley the way that you and I (and most everyone else) does, I would be fine with a trade up as long as it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I keep thinking about the offense Dallas had last year, with a perfectly healthy Gurley coming in around week 5 or so... and I just think it would be dynamic and as difficult to stop as any offense we've seen in many years. Gurley would punish the tacklers and wear defenses down. By the second half, defenses would be struggling like hell to stop him, they'd bring up the LB's and Safeties to the line and Romo, Dez, Beasley, Williams and Witten would tear them a new one.

It would be a better offense than Dallas had last year... and that offense was a ***** to stop. The defense will no doubt be better.

I don't need to tell you what that means.

I'm all for it. If he comes here though I hope he cuts those dreads- less weight/more aerodynamic!

What back would you like to see them draft?

Anyone but a Wisconsin rb in the first round, these guys are system runners and none have lived up to the hype on the next level.

Ron Dayne
Montee Ball
Michael Bennett
P.J. Hill
Terrell Fletcher
John Clay

All of these guys have put up great numbers at Wisconsin but fizzled out In the NFL.

What did he say?

Basically that he didn't see the Cowboys trading draft picks for veteran players (ala AP)
. He didn't say anything about not trading veteran players (Carr) for veteran players (AP), however. It's all salesman speak right now anyway.
Like Mark Twain said: a lie makes it half way around the world before the truth even gets it's shoes on. It's liar's season right now more than any time of the year.

I kind of figured that was how you felt when you said "Wisconsin rbs noooooooo!"

I was just wondering which RB you'd rather take and in what round. But, I guess you love anybody else.

Much thanks man.

Yeah, Dallas has completely reworked its way of running things since about 2010, so I have figured there is little to no chance they trade picks for anybody (incl AP). I couldn't be happier about it either. They're finally running things the way we've been begging for since about 1996. No more Roy Williams/Joey Galloway trades (thank God!), and no more spending huge on big names who are past (or almost) their prime.

Fans of the way Dallas used to do things will just say that Stephen is lying about it and AP is coming to Dallas... but it isn't going to happen. Not for draft picks (and likely not for players either).

That's not a good track record but Gordon is different and is going to be very good, IMO.

I'd rather go defense in the first two rounds and get a rb in the 3rd or 4th, we can't forget that our defense needs an upgrade for us to get to the bowl

For the most part I agree, **. I do, however, think AP changes the whole deal. I'm not going to lock myself in a closet and declare our season over if we do not somehow get the guy. I just happen to think that he improves our chances pf a Super Bowl appearance X2 if he's in Dallas.

Like most (reasonable posters) I also have my limits. When the asking price reaches the 1st round zip code or his contract demands get past the Murray numbers, I'm out.

With the exception of Ron Dayne, none were as good of a prospect as Gordon. And in today's NFL, prospects similar to Ron Dayne aren't rated nearly as high as they were in 2000 or so
