Yes.

My only pauses about this team with Peterson would be defensive tackle and Romo's health. If Romo, Dez, and Peterson stayed healthy and this team didn't make the Superbowl I'd struggle to believe I'll ever see the team win a Superbowl in my life.

No need to go into detail. No need to try and find a reason as to why or why not. Yes or No?
Does getting Adrian Peterson put us in the SuperBowl this year?

NO, Super Bowls are won by DEFENSE. You only need an efficient offense to go along with a GREAT DEFENSE. You want SUPER Bowl then think in terms of a top 5 defense. AD will cost us the future and any chance of a future SB.

Go Cowboys!

No, I don't think a 30 year old AP is the golden ticket for any team. I'd love to have him if the price is right but he's achieved deity status around these parts and some folks should probably tap the brakes on him a little.

If we can dodge the injury bug this year yes. If hardy suspension gets reduced to 2-4 games that would be even better.

It has been a LONG time since a running back was the deciding factor in a Super Bowl, so my answer is definitely no. Running Back is a position that is heavily reliant on other personnel.

Leading rusher for 2014 Champion Patriots: Blount, 40 yards (2.9 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2013 Champion Seahawks: Lynch, 39 yards (2.6 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2012 Champion Ravens: Rice, 59 yards (3.0 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2011 Champion Giants: Bradshaw, 72 yards (4.2 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2010 Champion Packers: Starks, 52 yards (4.7 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2009 Champion Saints: Thomas, 30 yards (3.3 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2008 Champion Giants: Bradshaw, 45 yards (5.0 YPC)

Teams that get to the Super Bowl usually do it on the back of a running game in December. Now what they do when they get in that game is a different story.

If we stay healthy, absolutely. We had 3 weaknesses going into this off-season the day Murray signed in Philly.

Running back - AP check
Pass Rush- Hardy and Gregory Check
Defensive Backs- Byron Jones Check

Now you could make an argument for 1 Tech and return man but those positions are down the charts as far as what wins you games

That's one of those NFL Media talking points that has been pretty consistently debunked by statistics over the years. Passing Offense and Passing Defense are what historically carry teams and no real other correlation has been close.

No.

I'll take it one step further and say that there is not, never has been, and never will be, a player who can singlehandedly put a team into a Super Bowl.

I personally think that the three biggest factors in getting to the Super Bowl are (in no particular order):

1) Depth (not just a few big name players along with a bunch of mediocre ones)

2) Coaching (taking advantage of matchups, getting the most out of your players)

3) Luck (health, the way the ball bounces, etc)

You cannot win if you do not have these 3 things.

May have not been on purpose but moving it here will slowly kill it. As a software engineer, I wouldn't think there is any motivation. I just think moving it to the NFL Zone where there is quite a bit less traffic will slowly reduce activity.

Nothing at all wrong with it and it probably is properly moved to the NFL zone.

BUT... Anything that causes this much activity in the world of advertising based revenue is a gold mine.

For the record, we tracked this thread for awhile.. It was pretty much the same four people keeping the thread alive in the Fan Zone...and that's ok, but the general topic no longer warrants being in the Fan Zone now that the draft has passed.

Do NOT start new Adrian Peterson threads in the fan zone.

They go in the NFL zone now.
