It has been a LONG time since a running back was the deciding factor in a Super Bowl, so my answer is definitely no. Running Back is a position that is heavily reliant on other personnel.

Leading rusher for 2014 Champion Patriots: Blount, 40 yards (2.9 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2013 Champion Seahawks: Lynch, 39 yards (2.6 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2012 Champion Ravens: Rice, 59 yards (3.0 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2011 Champion Giants: Bradshaw, 72 yards (4.2 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2010 Champion Packers: Starks, 52 yards (4.7 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2009 Champion Saints: Thomas, 30 yards (3.3 YPC)
Leading rusher for 2008 Champion Giants: Bradshaw, 45 yards (5.0 YPC)

I think we all know that if the Seahawks didn't get a brain fart and throw the ball, Marshawn Lynch's 103 yards and 2 TD's would have shot a big hole in this list.

Never mind it was answered.

For the record, we tracked this thread for awhile.. It was pretty much the same four people keeping the thread alive in the Fan Zone...and that's ok, but the general topic no longer warrants being in the Fan Zone now that the draft has passed.Thank you telling us the answer, someone else would not.

If we stay healthy, absolutely. We had 3 weaknesses going into this off-season the day Murray signed in Philly.

Running back - AP check
Pass Rush- Hardy and Gregory Check
Defensive Backs- Byron Jones Check

Now you could make an argument for 1 Tech and return man but those positions are down the charts as far as what wins you games

I like this, well thought out and said.

Hey, that girl is Super too !!

No.

I'll take it one step further and say that there is not, never has been, and never will be, a player who can singlehandedly put a team into a Super Bowl.

I personally think that the three biggest factors in getting to the Super Bowl are (in no particular order):

1) Depth (not just a few big name players along with a bunch of mediocre ones)

2) Coaching (taking advantage of matchups, getting the most out of your players)

3) Luck (health, the way the ball bounces, etc)

You cannot win if you do not have these 3 things.

Well, we need more quality depth at RB
