So a guy who has to have a cortisone shot in his back every week just to be able to suit up to play isnt a big deal for you? Manning was contimplating retiring after going thru this type of thing this yr. And this coming yr will be his last. This isnt madden, the human body can only take so much.

As long as he is playing at a MVP level and wants to play who the heck cares? Until I see his production decline no way in hell am I throwing away a franchise quarterback. This team has more important holes to fill at the moment.

If he was having issues preventing him from playing at a top level at that point, that would be one thing. Just wanting to phase out a top 5 QB based on possible what-ifs in the future is absurd, though.

He may want to and he may even believe that he can, but in the end it really isn't up to him.

Its not a what if. He didnt take his shot before the first Commanders game. And he was horrible and ended up breaking a bone in his back. So its not what ifs, we saw what he is like if he isnt relying on them shots. But medical science also says that them shots over a long period of time is bad for the body. Which is why Manning thought about retiring. Which is why Aikman retired.

In 2018 Dallas could save 16mil against the cap by releasing Romo. I can guanrantee he wont be a Dallas Cowboy that season.

Witten needs to regain some lost speed! Maybe lose some weight? I hope Romo lasts forever! And I hope Peterson gives us at least three more years.

So if the Cowboys make it deep into the playoffs in 2017 with Romo playing all 16 games while having another 30-10 season they're just going to let him go because of money? The one position teams aren't afraid to pay?

The only way Romo goes off the books is if he retires which may well happen in a couple of years but no way is he going to be cut.

Injuries withstanding, Romo will last longer than Witten, I think he(Jason) has a smaller window.

His back is a non issue as long as he continues to perform at a top level. Period. Is his back a concern? Possibly, but you don't phase out one of the top franchise QB's in the league because it could possibly be an issue down the road.

None of us really know how much of an issue it really is. Because none of us are there during the week. But they did give us a peek after the Washington game, and what all didnt happen and what he didnt get that week. And we saw the result in possibly one of the worst games of his career. So he himself has to think about how long he will subject himself to those shots. Favre became addicted. and probably still is.

Romo possibly 4 more years if he stays upright and doesn't take any huge shots.

No way for Witten. He is still reliable but he has zero speed anymore and no moves to speak of. He's never been an athletic TE but if you go back to Romo's early years, especially 2007 and him running down the field against the Eagles with his helmet off, he was a totally different player. He ran angry and with emotion. Not so much now.

He barely had his surgerywhat will be going on 3 yrs now. So 2018 will be 4 yrs for romo getting these shots. They arent going to stop. One can hope this OL just keeps getting better to take some of them hits off Romo. Me i just dont think Dallas should be going long term just relying on him. Draft the heir this yr in round 1 and groom him and let him compete and he will start when he beats out Romo.

Has it been reported that Romo will continue receiving the shots in 2015?

There's a huge, huge, monumentally huge difference between a cortisone shot (which is merely a steroid to reduce inflammation), and opiate pain killers.
