ESPN (Mort) Dez may skip opener with no deal ***MegaMerge***

LOL.... Not at all. Just trying to establish my level of "Don't Give a Damn"..

It's Friday. Forgive me..

;-)

hey dude, there are certainly days my apathy is the only thing i care about.

what a quandrious dilemma that is.

Almost 800k to miss a game that accomplishes nothing.

July 15th is the drop dead date. If he doesn't have a deal by then, this may be his last year in Dallas.

I don't see this happening
It would only cost him huge money
I hope we get a deal done but I don't see any player blowing off a nearly million bucks to make a statement since there is nothing that could be gained from it
Maybe his agent needs to read the CBA

If only I could've used "Sources say...." for my honors thesis in college. It must be nice.

Yep, "sources" have become the teflon for accountability for sports writers (I no longer refer to them as journalists). If they can't do better than "sources", they are not to be believed. Hell, it's highly probable that ol' Mort made this crap up to just to get clicks but, hey, "sources" can't be questioned.

If he does, I won't think of him the same again. I think he's too passionate to miss the opener.

I know people are going to come in and say "What would you do if you believed you deserved a bigger contract!?" - If I was under contract still, I feel it's my obligation to be on the field.

Don't let Mort and his "sources" fool you. This is just click bait for him.

OK.

This looks like the agent(s) leaking information. Who knows if they are making the same claims/threats directly to the Cowboys front office....
Maybe to you, but to me it looks like Mort making crap up to generate clicks and hiding behind "sources" to remove himself from accountability. JMO.

It's not so bad if you open up a can of chile beans and slap a hot dog on there with a little cheese. Nice cold beer and it becomes pretty manageable for me.

not doing the beer anymore. there's a reason i've been much more "mellow" since last oct. :)

Sources?

He probably has a video of Dez and his agent discussing this tactic in a Wal Mart parking lot, the release of which is imminent.

Wasn't Dez the guy that said not long ago he was a Cowboys for life?

I presumed at the time he didn't mean on the rodeo circuit....

OK.

Probably just trying to use any leverage he has, if its even true.

Why? Emmitt did it. If he doesn't sign the franchise tag, he's technically not under contract. Right?

Different situation. Emmitt could and did get the new contract; however, by rule Dez can't get a new contract after July 15th.

if true, this is an unnecessary distraction. Why do I feel when players hold out, then eventually come in, they end up getting injured?
