The stories are being updated. The initial reports were that he lost a thumb and some fingers along with skin on his hand.

Right, it seems like the stories in these articles are changing every hour.

It has gone from his hand being blown off to a few fingers. Then, down to a finger and now some flesh. What's next? A missing thumbnail? Wish someone in the Giants organization would come out and dispel the rumors.......

WINZ-AM radio in Miami has reported that Pierre-Paul's injury is severe enough that there's still a small chance doctors may have to amputate his hand.

I didn't look at the link in the OP, I saw another thread earlier with a different article that didn't have much info yet.

Since the OP himself said that there were conflicting reports about possible fingers missing, I took his word on it.

I wouldnt take anyone's word on it...Id make them put their finger on it, and then pinky swear to it

The pictures that his neighbors posted on instagram showed a uhaul with what looked like industrial quality fireworks in the back. He wasn't setting off roman candles.

Someone on a Giants forum posted that even if he had signed it he'd still be at risk because it only covers injuries related to football. So blowing off part of your hand with fireworks is not something they'd have to pay you for.

That's what I suspected.
