The pictures that his neighbors posted on instagram showed a uhaul with what looked like industrial quality fireworks in the back. He wasn't setting off roman candles.

Burns to the hand and fingers can be very serious, especially if it involves the circumference of the fingers. The skin has to be flexible for movement of the hand and fingers, unlike a burn on your body. Scar tissue just isn't flexible. It will depend on how badly he burned the hand and how deeply. Several reports have mentioned possible nerve damage and that entails a severe burn and likely a 3rd degree burn. Being that it is his hand and fingers it could be a serious enough to have a serious effect on his career while not being career ending.

I heard a moron yesterday decided it was a good idea to launch a "professional" fireworks mortar (yeah the 5" balls that go BOOM) off his head. Needless to say, he died.

My thoughts too, I see it was in Florida and not NJ. NJ has really harsh fireworks laws. I'm curious if he could be charged with a crime and potentially suspended ten games. 2 games for each explosion.

Here's a recent article and video related to what types of fireworks are legal and which are not in the State of Florida.

Summarized, if they leave the ground or go "Bang", they are illegal to set off in the State. Oddly enough, these same fireworks that are illegal to set off, are legal to buy in the State.

Idk, To me, that's like throwing a monkey a banana and asking him not to eat it. Seems as though the State wants the revenue from the sales but none of the responsibility. -smh
