That is actually the best thing about this contract, IMO. He will be on the decline by then and Dallas can sign him then to what his current play will be worth. i.e. No dead money on the cap down the road.

That is what the team has been doing so well lately... not putting itself in position to be paying guys long term after they've started their decline in play.

Outstanding job.

I hope this trend continues of handing out contracts that are actually reasonably likely to reach the end. Smith's was long, yes, but he'll play 10 years here if health allows.
