Mickey mentioned the base and cap hit, thought he said $7 million but I am not sure, I can not remember to be honest, anyone have the details for the 2015 season?

If it's a $20 million signing bonus, $3 million unguaranteed salary in 2015 and $22 million additional guaranteed, his cap hit would be about $11.4 million in 2015 based on some back of the envelope math.

1. The $3M salary in 2015 is fully guaranteed.
2. The $22M in guarantees he gets in March 2016 has no effect on the 2015 salary cap hit.

Do we have his annual base salaries yet?

All I've heard so far was he got a $20M signing bonus. And he gets a total of $23M for 2015. That leaves $3M as a base salary. Haven't heard anything about future years in terns of base salary.

There is some cap formula that lowers his number more, looks like it will be $7 million for 2015 total.

$20M signing bonus spread over 5 years. $4m per year.
2015 salary: $3M

2015 cap hit: $7M. Down from $12.8M when Bryant was franchised. Savings of $5.8M in 2015.

1. The $3M salary in 2015 is fully guaranteed.
2. The $22M in guarantees he gets in March 2016 has no effect on the 2015 salary cap hit.
If they're fully guaranteeing his 2015 salary of $3 million, they could spread that over the 5 years, resulting in a $4.6 million cap hit in 2015. Has it actually been reported that the 2015 base is fully guaranteed?

so good thing he didn't sign that tender then, huh? He's getting a lot of his money upfront, at a time when we can afford it, and in the process we actually save salary cap room.

The Cowboys and Bryant had to figure out the balance between Dez's short-term money and any concerns the team had about his maturity. The contract details show that Bryant will have $45 million "guaranteed" by March, so he has to stay healthy and with good behavior in the meantime to ensure he gets that money. Like the Cowboys, we never bought Bryant's camp's claims that he would sit out into the season if he wasn't signed by Wednesday. It made too much sense for both sides to get a deal done now

Thank God we got this done. The insanity of Dez missing games would be too much.

Base salaries cannot get spead out over the length of the contract. Only signing bonuses can. The base salary is guaranteed, but all of it counts in 2015.

It’s a five-year, $70 million agreement with a $20 million signing bonus. Bryant will make $3 million more in salary for the 2015 season and $22 million more will become fully guaranteed in March 2016

$3M more in salary, or just $3M? Gotta believe it would be the latter because $3M more in base salary relative to what he would have earned with the franchise tag would push his cap charge close to $20M.

Base salaries are commonly restructured into bonus money which is then prorated. In this case, there would be no reason to write a contract with an immediate restructure the very next day.

. For what it's worth: Dez did not receive $45 million guaranteed, as was commonly reported. He gets $23 million guaranteed this season, and $22 million more if he's on the roster next March. Now something catastrophic would have to happen on or off the field for Bryant to get cut, but the money isn't guaranteed until he gets through this season unscathed.

I mean....it would have to be HIGHLY catastrophic to take the cap hit to cut him after one season.
