I think he's going to be huge behind this offensive line. Sometimes, guys don't play up to the level they could because they get discouraged being stuck on the depth chart.
Now C. Mic gets his chance to shine.
And we get him for a conditional 7th?
Low risk, high reward. Win/win..

I would have rather got Terrence West but if they had to get a relatively young back, we shall see with this player. Just inconsistent as can be, but if he were not he would not be available. Just makes you wonder when the two time defending conference champions give up on him.

I think part of it is the fact that Michael will not be on the field all the much until Lynch is gone, and Michael's contract expires before Lynch's does.

I think it would take a really large drop off in production for Lynch to be out after 2015 which means the best case scenario for Michael's playing time would be part of 2016 just before he's a free agent in 2017. The other part is that he probably hasn't developed as much as they would hope. That's fine. He'd have to be pretty damn good to take carries from a guy who gets 1300 yards and 12 TDs every year.

Little prospect to play because of an established, productive player ahead of him and possible lack of progress to some extent. I think it's understandable.

That said, I don't really care why. The Seahawks have a damn good running back and Dallas does not. He may not be good enough to help their running game but it's hard to imagine he can't serve as an improvement over the wildcards Dallas currently has. More importantly, it's hard to imagine he's not a better option than the random the team will have to sign when one of the wildcards gets hurt.

One thing that concerned me about West is that he averaged 3.9 yards behind a line almost as good as ours. Granted his team didnt have a passing game, but its not like he would have been coming into a situation where his blocking was vastly superior. And given that he wasnt awful, I don't think Cleveland was going to give him away. He was a 3rd rounder last year, and I dont see why they would take that much less then that for him. At that price you could probably pry a Bernard or Mason whom are both better players

With Michael, Seattles OL isnt garbage, but they arent nearly as good as ours or Clevelands. Thats really moot however, because he is more of an unknown at this point. One thing he at least does here however is presses Randle hard. And I don't know if Randle can hold him off. Michael is a superior runner and thats all either really does at this point

It will be interesting to see how Lenihan works the rotation. Murray's ability as a runner and receiver/blocker never tipped to the defense what to expect.

Very good point. Murray's greatest attribute is he could do everything at least to a solid level. So his presence on the field didn't tip the defense as to what's coming. You start using a rotation of one dimensional players and you become predictable.

He didn't put up those numbers on paper. Athleticism is athleticism. But that doesn't make someone a good football player. It just has a high correlation with it.

Exactly the point I was making. There are many athletic freaks that didnt pan out in the NFL.

They made one Sunday, trading a 2016 conditional seventh-round draft pick to Seattle in exchange for 2013 second-round pick Christine Michael, according to a source.

Which is why McFadden will be the starter. He can do all. Randle will spell him. The only concern with him is pass blocking. Dunbar I don't understand why he has a roster spot beyond special teams. He's explosive in space but he's never on the field.

I am surprised so many people on here are knocking this trade. We signed Darren McFadden moments after we lost Murray. That is a joke, not this trade. Oh and for those here thinking he is an insurance/backup will be shocked when he is STARting.

Yeah, he's pretty much a boulder coming at players. He's also mean and has a cockiness to him.

A lot of running backs do that to Sam Houston State defenses.
