I am surprised so many people on here are knocking this trade. We signed Darren McFadden moments after we lost Murray. That is a joke, not this trade. Oh and for those here thinking he is an insurance/backup will be shocked when he is STARting.

We'll see. I love the potential in this addition but he has to come to practice and be ready to grind to beat out these other guys. He has to come in hungry. If not then he won't receive any playing time. It's up to him to force the coaches hand.

My stance is if he can play at all, he will take the starting spot. I'm not talking about week 1, but as the season progresses. Once we get to smell the stench of Darren McFadden for awhile and Joseph Randle's sacking his own QB, it'll be Michael in the backfield for the bulk of the work.

If that doesn't happen, he should maybe think of a career change.

I like this trade, partly because it cost us almost nothing . We have a bunch of comp picks next year and a 7th for rotational back is nothing.

Like a bunch of others here I never thought we would go into the season with the group we had, but the thing I like about this is Michael is a very good complement to the others in the committee. Randle and DMC are not full time backs, Michael is a good one cut guy that our OL will give a half dozen times a game to hit the second level without being touched. He also has the size to bang away in short yardage downs .

I would have loved to get a feature back, but I like this move of getting a good committee back for next to nothing.

I wasn't talking week 1 either but I expect by week 4-5 he will be the starter.

Love this. I've liked Michael since scouting Cyrus Gray. He always showed up int he highlights looking better than Gray. His character concerns keep him from being a slam dunk, obviously. But considering our RB roster, it's worth the risk

If he doesn't come to Dallas super motivated about this opportunity he's a lost cause. We have no RBs and we have a great OL with an elite QB, WR and the TE can play a little too. There isn't a better opportunity in the league for him than with the Cowboys.

Plus it's heading back to Texas.

And two years to earn himself a lucrative second contract somewhere

I want to go on record and say I wanted this guy. he will bring us some toughness like murray had.randle is not a tough runner. I hope that he is better then mcfaddon because I have no faith in that guy at all.

Plus it's the Cowboys and it's within sniffing distance of his crack at free agency.

That dude got his lottery ticket with this trade.

Bad attitude, can't pass block, fumble issues, and apparently hasn't learned anything the Seattle coaching staff has been trying to teach him for going on three seasons. He's not going to come in here and set the world on fire in a month.

Looks like the Titans got the same conditional 7th deal for Terrence West that Dallas did for Michael.

I've got him penciled in for 1,400 yards and a dozen touchdowns.

I like it, too, but I do keep thinking that the guy who made Michael expendable was a college FA we were interested in, too. The fact that SEA spent a 2nd on Michael gives him the appearance of a pedigree, but really, it reinforces that talent evaluation can build a deep team in a lot of different ways.
