With Cooper, Crabtree, and Streater, the Raiders have solid WR depth.

Raiders fans are pissed about this.

Gladly sir.

I feel like this will make the Cowboys very dangerous because now teams are gonna have to keep two safeties back deep because both Williams and Butler have the ability to run right pass opposing corners if there's no help.

Obviously that will be a lighter box. That keeps the run game very much in play. Then you have a guy like Dunbar. He's gonna be a nightmare for opposing linebackers. They have to play off otherwise he'll be running free, but much like McFadden can make people miss in the open field.

This allows Cole to stay in the slot and we know how dangerous he is. It's truly gonna be a pick your poison. We saw the Giants give up a lot of underneath passes and it came back to bite them so what do defenses do? Play tighter? If they do we're gonna have some big play opportunities with some of the speed with the likes of Dunbar, Williams, and Butler.

I also am looking forward to more Escobar. Not just in the red zone. His route running has improved after being pretty terrible his first couple of seasons. Guy really has great hands. Can be flanked out wide. He also can make things happen in open space. Very strong. We've seen him in the pre-season where he just drove four or five guys right to the first down marker. Not an easy guy to bring down and if we get him in stride deep down the middle that's gonna be a nightmare for teams trying to defend.

Also let's not forget about Romo. Look at what he's done with average talents at the receiver position over the years. Guys like Crayton, Roy. E Williams, Laurent Robinson, Terry Glenn, etc. He's so decisive, so accurate, gets the ball out of his hands and puts his receivers in situations where they can get a lot of yards after the catch. That's why even when he had bad offensive lines he didn't get sacked as much as one would think because of that quick release along with obviously that patented spin move and his manuvering in the pocket.

We have forced teams to radically alter the way they defend against us now that we've added Brice Butler.

Tl;dr

Just kidding man.

Yeah, the scouts have done a tremendous job with unearthing these pro prospects. Hopefully they stuck gold again.

interesting player
Raw but big and fast
Hope he can learn fast
Interested in how we worked the trade since we don't have a 6 or 7 but we could have swapped other picks with them to balance out
Too me he would be easily worth a sixth

Yikes. It's just a round (5th for a 6th) but I consider 5th rounders way more valuable than 6th rounders. I think the talent usually falls off in most drafts after the 5th, just my opinion.

Hopefully, Butler proves worth it though.

Hard to imagine how a guy who couldn't beat out Rod Streater and Andre Holmes is going to do much for our offense.

So moving down a round from the 5th to the 6th round is the true compensation assuming he sticks.

Though picking up a street FA is cheaper, seems like a fairly low risk reward.

Unless you'd care to think that the third time is charm for us to give two #1's for Galloway/RW/?

Well hey with a guy who is that fast teams can't just leave their corners on an island especially when there is a receiver on the other side who has been this team's deep threat the last few seasons.

This tells me they don't like Street in the interim. Otherwise, they would have picked the best free agent available. Butler seems like a nice addition. But he was a 7th round pick (Street 5th I believe). Everyone else in the past has probably been in love with 4.37 speed, so why is that speed now going to be the reason he works things out for the 1st time in his career?

I still like the guy, but it makes me think that they don't have confidence in Street at all.

When I think of Laurent Robinson, I think of the times Romo bought time in the pocket and would hit him deep. Robinson would run deep posts or crossing patterns, giving him more time to separate from the DB.

I can see Butler doing exactly that.

Very interesting move. Can't wait to see him play

He is an intriguing player. Not big issue with the trade basically being a swap.

It was interesting it was tied to "six games". Makes it a little bit of a gamble on Dez Bryant and a little less about how they really wanted the player to be on the team.
