New season of American Horror Story: Hotel starts.

Really like this series. I lost interest in last season though. Hope this season is good and they don't go overboard on Lady Gaga.

Who has time to watch TV when we're watching Cowboy game film and breaking that down.
So we can render informed opinions here.

Really looking forward to this season. Last season was very good.

To me, the first two seasons have been the best so far. They were both creepy. Season 2 (Asylum) had a little too many simultaneous plots going on and that hurt it a bit, but it was otherwise a great setting and made my skin crawl.

The past two seasons (Coven & Freak Show) were a little too on the campy side for me. They were interesting and fun to watch, but not creepy enough.

Scream Queens is also a Ryan Murphy show, and it's like AHS but without the creepiness, to me. It's definitely campy. Hopefully because of that, Hotel gets to focus more on the dark & creepy side.

Freak Show and Coven were crap. First two seasons were generally creepy and great. I'm betting Hotel will be like the former rather than the latter. Still going to watch though. For some odd reason I'm enjoying Scream Queens haha. It's very campy and silly but it's entertaining.

Never watched one episode of FS. Just looks goofy. Oh well.

First episode was meh imo. We'll see how it goes.

Are you crazy...the first episode was GREAT.....remember this is not HBO, Cinemax, Starz or Showtime.....there is only so much sex and violence they can show.

They really do seem to push the limits with this show.

I know what to expect and even with the restrictions they put on them selves they really do tend to shock with a scene or two.

Problem with that sometimes is when they go for the shock value just for the sake of the shock value.

I can understand it so far in this first episode as it is dealing with addictions and how far people can go with them but still...wow with the first druggie.

Anyone know where to watch it online? I remember they'd be on Amazon the day after but this one still isn't up. Not on Netflix either.

Doesn't FX put all of it's new shows right on their website?

I think past seasons of AHS are on Netflix though.

Have to download FX app to watch, and apparently they don't offer it to dish customers

That was a great first episode. It's already infinitely better than the last two seasons. Can't wait to see it all play out. I loathe Lady Gaga but she was clearly destined for this role.

Yep. I don't have FX as part of my Comcast Xfinity package. I only have the basic channels. So it wouldn't let me watch it.

Spoilers ahead...

Not a bad intro. It's definitely creepy and dark. I'd say it's hard to relate to the characters so far. I guess the only "normal" one is the detective. I also don't really understand the ending. It looks like they're going with the same "Murder House" concept where people who die in the hotel are trapped there. At least that's what it looks like. Kathy Bates was a concerned mother, Matt Bomer and Sarah Paulson was junkies. Sarah definitely died and it looks like Matt died, and now they're both "living" in the hotel and taking part in murdering guests. I was hoping for something new but it appears to be the Murder House concept. I'd bet that Kathy Bates is dead too. And I wouldn't be surprised if Lady Gaga and Denis O'Hare are too. Although Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer did leave the hotel to pick up that couple at the outdoor movie, so perhaps it isn't exactly like Murder House since I don't think they could leave the house. Overall, it wasn't a bad first episode. A little similar to Season 2 in the sense of an "outsider" coming in to investigate and then moving into the premises.
