The Cowboys want Moore around for one reason, and it's not because he's the quarterback of the future.

It's because the kid is a brainiac that learned Scott Linehan's offense when they were in Detroit together. He's going to serve as a sounding board for Matt Cassel these next few weeks in the meeting room, at practice, and in games. Once Romo is healthy, all bets are off. Maybe Moore goes back to the practice squad, or maybe they keep him around and cut Weeden.

History has shown us the exact opposite. Cassel is the Quarterback until Romo gets back so hopefully the defense plays lights out and they get Michael and the running game going

Nope, they will ride Cassel till Romo's healthy for better or worse.

Bingo. If you can't make it work with one of the better backup QBs in the league, then there's nothing that can be done until Romo comes back. Moore will only see the field if Cassel goes down in a game. And even then, I'm not ruling out them plugging Weeden back in during a game if Cassel goes down since, for some strange reason, Weeden actually acts like a functioning backup QB in situations where he is not the starter. He's like a relief pitcher...looks 'okay' late in the game when all he has to do is maintain what the starter left for him.

When I read the title I though this meant they would limit what he can do playcalling wise. If they still call plays they way they have been I don't see cassel making any difference.

If history has shown us anything ....the Cowboys patience is short. I will not be shocked to see a move to Kellen Moore if Cassel proves to be Weeden 2.0.

I doubt it. History showed us the leash was very long with Weeden. And rightfully so. You don't change QB's at the drop of a hat.

If Cassel sucks it up like Weeds, season is done anyways so no need to put anybody else in the lineup. If we are sitting with just 2 or 3 wins when Romo comes back, its too little too late.

If history has shown us anything, leashes are long here.

I agree
If anything they are slow to make a change
Moore is not going to be in the mix and I don't think he was brought he for anything other than a guy to see if he can develope
You won't see Moore under center till training camp

I hope the Matt Cassel leash is only four weeks long and number 9 comes back. Even if the Cowboys are 4-5 at that point I can see Romo lead the Cowboys to five or more wins over the last seven.

Quick stat- over the past 18 regular season games Romo has started, the Cowboys are 15-3. Thought I'd introduce some positive vibes to this thread.

Even if we're 4-5? I'd be ecstatic to be 4-5 when Tony gets back.

You should already know Kellen Moore. Call me a homer for this guy I don't care. This guy can play ball.

Ahh...got it. I thought you were recommending something outlandish like trading for yet another backup QB.

No way. Kellen Moore is the guy. Been watching him play preseason football since he came in the league. This guy can thread the ball like no other. Then give him this o line and weapons he will find a way.
