RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks players have seen the clips of Greg Hardy on the Cowboys sideline, and they know the defensive end has been the subject of much discussion around the NFL this week.

But when asked about the outburst, they defended Hardy's actions.

"I think if his teammates saw it as a distraction or something that was out of what they deem to be a team player and deem legitimate, then I think they’d say something," said cornerback Richard Sherman. "Until his teammates say anything, I think it’s fine. His teammates rallied behind him. They understand where he’s coming from. It was a tough point in the ballgame, there was frustration. When you’re in a ballgame, there’s passion. If you have a guy sitting there with his helmet down and just walking out there with no passion, you’d be complaining, too.

I like Sherm he's a real dude. Always speaks his mind and says a lot of things us fans think. I appreciate guys like Sherm myself. Local SoCal guy.

Yeah he's a rare one. He doesn't give the company line. I'll always respect him and I have a even more appreciation after reading about his upbringing. I do wonder how a guy like that goes so late in the draft with his size and skill and how everyone missed on it.

I like him too because he doesn't fall in line with what everyone else says. Everyone has the same tune about Hardy and just piling on at this point. Sherman isn't a company man when it comes to issues like this.

Ahhh.....the good ol' measurable test. Scouts still allowing 40 times to dictate where they take guys.....its still mind boggling to me.

Sherman has long held a grudge against his former Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. He believes Harbaugh said some unflattering things about him to scouts/teams which also negatively affected his stock. It's not hard to believe really. If your college coach has a bunch of negative stuff to say about you AND you run slow at a speed position you probably will slide. We'll never know how much or if Harbaugh had a negative impact on Shermans stock, but it's definitely not out of the question.

I've heard that in the past. I think it had a big impact. Sherman is a smart guy. Him bringing that up....he's heard something. I'm sure someone or someone from a organization came to him and told him that they wanted to take him but Harbaugh possibly said something negative about him.

I also thought it was odd that even Harbaugh himself didn't even take a shot at him.

Yeah I am with you. Sherm is a very smart individual that is able to convey and express his thoughts clearly.

So Hardy and Beasley's wife had hot flashes (at the same time)? /chinstroke

SoCal guy here too. Love Sherm's pure hearty take. It's nice to see things like this vs the crap that gets generated by the BSPN war machine.
