Too many cynics. When the season goes down the toilet is the greatest need for a players meeting....unless they are a bunch of losers beyond the W/L record. A meeting like this isn't about the record or solutions and certainly not about fans. I'm sure it's about reminding everyone not to let the media or fickle fan tweets get in their heads. It's about staying together in adverse conditions, having each other's backs, and playing for each other, for pride...possibly for coaches. Those are things no one needs to talk about when winning.

And players meetings are critical to rookies and other young players going through this. It's up to the coaches to find solutions and worry about records.

Expecting players to free lance just to get the job done....despite the shoddy coaching.;)

The season is officially over. Once you have the dreaded "players only" meeting it's all she wrote.
The players were probably trying to coordinate their off-season plans.

Yes, not a fan of this.

It also suggests that the coach does not have control over the team.

Anyone ever hear of a successful head coach having one of these?

When Jeremy Mincey calls a meeting, you show up.

The shocking thing is, he is really a team leader.

He was elected captain last season which completely floored me. How someone of his history and relatively low level of tangible career accomplishments in so little time rose so fast was surprising.

This basically tells me he is noticeable to the players walking around in there. I guess.

This comment bothers me too:

“Well, I can do math. Since Romo got hurt it seems like we've been doing math,” Jones said Tuesday on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan. “We haven't looked at the rest of the league, but we've been doing math as far as the rest of the division. But certainly to the extent that we know if we won out or win a significant part of these games, we know that the same things have impacted us could impact any of these teams ahead of us. (Other) teams have injuries. Teams have various challenges along the way and that could happen to anybody that's ahead of you right now, New York or some of those. And they could start playing at a level that gives us a shot."

They wheels have officially fallen off.

pretty much. my only hope now is romo doesn't come back to ruin our draft position.

knowing the cowboys, romo will get us to 8-7 but we'll lose the last game.

This comment bothers me too:

Jerry has done the math. I guess he assumed a record of 2 - 7 until Romo gets back. He is praying that Manning, Bradford, and Cousins all get injured for an extended length of time and everyone of these teams loses all their games starting a backup QB. There goes a GM with an ego the size of Texas that cannot admit that his HC is in over his head. Good Luck, Jerry.

I wonder if another owner came out and started talking like this, how much sense it would make?

Say, I don't know. Daniel Snyder.

That's the one thing I like about this - you just know it burns Garrett to no end
