Why Cowboys WR Brice Butler can't get on the field

i
Todd Archer, ESPN Staff Writer

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When the Dallas Cowboys traded for wide receiver Brice Butler earlier this season, they were hoping to find a big-play threat to fill in while Dez Bryant was out with a broken foot.

Butler's first reception for the Cowboys went for 67 yards against the New Orleans Saints, but he suffered a hamstring injury that has largely rendered him ineffective. He caught two passes for 41 yards Oct. 25 against the New York Giants and has not played in a game since after the hamstring strain flared up again.

Butler is now healthy enough to play, but the Cowboys have stuck with Devin Street as the fifth receiver on game day.

I understand special teams, but you have to get Butler on the field.

With only 3 receptions and 4 games here, he has nearly as many yards as Devin Street. Pathetic.

street is a favorite of our WRs coach, that guy has been disappointing to say the least.our WRs have no idea on what to do when teams blitz.

If only we went 4-5 Wide often with:
DEZ
T-Will
Butler
Beasley
Witt/Escobar

Somebody has to be open in 3-4 seconds, BOOM!!!!!!!!!!

WHY???????:(:mad::confused::eek::oops::rolleyes::);):cool::omg::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin:

I always assume most coaches know more then we do. I'm not sure that is the case here unfortunately. Very very sad.

Definitely seems goofy to think fans are smarter than the coaches but geez, how long has this forum been screaming to attack the middle with crossing routes, slants etc....Also the fans here were screaming to attack the endzone with Dez before they acctually started doing it....At least it seemed that way and I know many here would agree.

Dooley shouldn't be the one determining whether to play his favorite WR or not. It seems a sad situation when our staff can't judge talent well enough to make the necessary adjustments.

Street had a crucial hold and a critical turnover but is still playing. Yet more evidence of the lack of accountability for the Cowboys players.

This is all about blocking. Street is the best blocking receiver we have. I am not saying I agree with it, but that's why he continues to get the nod.

I think Street has made three plays this year and on two he fumbled, though one was called an interception .. but if you catch and someone hits you and let go of it, it's your fault. Butler has made one play, that was a long 60+ yards with no turnovers. Street has played in almost every game, Butler has not yet the net-gain for Butler is still better than Street.

Street is probably the most useless player on this roster. His constant status as an active player is a real head-scratcher.

Dang, just ref this game like the Army/Navy game yesterday: swallow your blanking whistles

Please. I swear some in here think that our coaching staff has a combined IQ of single digets sometimes. Message board GM's have the biggest egos I've ever seen in my life.
