Did Hardy wear out his welcome in the locker room this year?

"Well, I wouldn't say. I didn't look at him like that. He sits right beside me so he's welcomed everyday, you know what I mean? I have to deal with him," Mincey said. "Being that you have to deal with him, I grew accustomed to a misunderstood person, and I got to know him a little better than a lot of people did.

"It was tough. You had this guy who you want to be a leader and then you had that guy. It was just too much."

Part of the difficulty to Hardy's stay in Dallas was his inability to become that leader he was originally viewed as. Hardy was reportedly late to team meetings and his teammates "began to sour on him late in the season.”

Did Mincey see that tension growing in the locker room all season?

"Yeah, it definitely grew," Mincey said. "I hate it happening. You're talking about a team that was so close knit and tight and then all of the sudden, it's just different.

So frustration didn't stem from the d-line as a whole underachieving? And not living up to expectations.

Man, that is not something I expected anyone to actually confirm. If it's true, then they should really move on. They don't need Hardy rubbing off on these young guys.

OK then. Adios. I'm not deluding myself that he'll get resigned. Just hope Gregory can add strength and develop. Maybe this will spur them on into replacing The Golden Cock.

I will say I don't envy Hardy's locker room neighbors. That dude had like 12 pairs of cleats when he was clearing out his locker.

Whatever you think about Mincey as a player or his performance this year, what he says makes sense: Hardy's pretense at leadership and reality of immaturity and lack of accountability annoyed his teammates. Seems pretty straightforward.

It definitely seems that Hardy is not returning if his teammates are making these kinds of disclosures.

Can't wait for another long thread of people defending Hardy. Gonna be legendary.

Mincey may suck but he's not the first or the last that has said or hinted that Hardy just didn't seem to fit here. It's bizarre how some here can't come to grips with the reality that this could be the case and that the NFL isn't like Madden 2016.

The guy was asked about Hardy, It is no secret about hardy as we have been hearing about it from different sources this week.

Now the guy is honest and he gets belittled because his production is not great.

Well...nobody said his production was great.

I guess he could just say no comment when asked about Hardy, but if every player did that, we would never know anything about what goes on behind the scenes.

Or we could chalk it up to a former disgruntled player talking bad about the team...;wait...he is still on the team.

How about we just take the info given and realize there is a problem with Hardy and how others on the team viewed him instead of turning it on the person that said something about it.

That's my take on it, too. Didn't know he was looked at negatively in the locker room until seeing that tidbit from Mincey. I don't see him returning.

So who do we believe Marinelli's assessment or Mincey's.

Mincey.

Coaches normally take the positive road when dealing with players and talking to reporters unless it is a player that they feel would benefit from being called out in the media. I doubt the coaches feel like Hardy is the type that would
benefit from the coaches talking about him in a negative manner. Mincey is probably just being asked questions and being honest.

So...If Rod is sugar coating it, If Red is sugar coating it...but Mincey is talking like that...I believe Mincey.

This is not a case of a former player that we let go so they are disgruntled and trying to start something.
