The amazing Mike Fisher was on yesterday morning on 105.3 The FAN. He was asked about the Mincey/Hardy topic. He said Mincey and Hardy are the closet two d-lineamn on the team but both are looking for a contract with the Cowboys and both know what is on the line.

Both provide leadership -- Mincey by actions and words and Hardy by example -- and it will come down to which player the Vowboys would prefer to have in the locker room. Mincey says and does all the right things in the locker room but does not produce on the field. Hardy does few things right in the locker room but was arguably the best d-lineman.

We will all find out soon which player the Cowboys prefer.

They'll take Hardy if it's strictly an on-the-field consideration.

Look at it this way: If the Cowboys are winning, then the off-field stuff takes care of itself and becomes basically background noise - like Charles Haley's antics.

However, if the Cowboys are losing, then guys mumbling in the locker room are the least of your worries, and, quite frankly, should be expected.

Guys generally don't complain (to the press) when they're winning. When they're losing, every little indignity gets magnified and blown out of proportion.

You could look at it that way, or you could look at it like this: If I get cut for missing meetings, then everyone should get cut for missing meetings, including Hardy.

If Mincey produced he wouldn't have been cut by the Jags, make no mistake.

What's Mincey's explanation for sucking the first 4 games of the season defensively without Hardy, despite being tight-knit?

Exactly.

Everybody wants to be upset about another man being late, and his treatment.

How about getting upset at the real problem at hand? That the team sucked. Get mad at the players that sucked, and didn't perform, but wanted a check every week.

"Yeah, it definitely grew," Mincey said. "I hate it happening. You're talking about a team that was so close knit and tight and then all of the sudden, it's just different.

And some folks chemistry is a "mirage", or "overrated"

So Mincey did not register a single sack all season long because of bad locker-room chemistry?

Sorry, but when you totally suck all season long and then come out with this stuff...........sounds like excuses.

Now if this was Jason Witten saying this, it would be a different story but Mincey just sounds like sour grapes to me.

I don't think chemistry is about being chummy... I think its about leadership, focus, and the ability to have a common mind on the field.
Being close knight helps of course, but obviously talent and leadership is first... it keeps the strays focused, & in line.

How can you be a leader if you totally suck all season?

So Mincey and his 0 sacks on the season is the leader of the defense?................maybe that explains a lot after all.

I did not say Mincey was a leader...
I was speaking in general to the poster's response.
And in general terms about chemistry... Not Mincey.
