Mincey: Tension grew in Cowboys locker room with Greg Hardy

I don't think that there is anything productive in letting stuff from the locker room out into the public. Clearly, Mincey, whether he is right or wrong with his stance on Hardy in the locker room, has an agenda in terms of positioning himself as a leader and a more beneficial cog to the Cowboys going forward than Greg Hardy.

I do think that there were serious chemistry issues with the team, and the defense did not play with the same esprit de corps as they did in 2014. I saw a lot fewer instances of players swarming to the ball and getting hats on the ball carriers. They also didn't create the same number of turnovers. Some of this was due to the impotence of the offense, and the opposition realizing that they didn't have to take many chances with the ball. Another part was that the defense didn't play with the same sort of camaraderie.

Hardy may or may not be a decent locker room guy.
Carolina apparently loved him.

But when you win 4 games I could care less about some locker room hero. Everyone should be irate and hateful at 4-12.

Its kinda odd how many of the same people who hate Garrett hate Hardy. Which approach do you want? Stay the course, follow the process or flip some tables, blow up and blow off steam?

Wut? How is that odd? Garrett appears to be an average head coach and that's why most would like to see him replaced. How does that relate in anyway to the fact that Hardy appears to be an odd cat that rubbed some players the wrong way and had some run ins with the staff over tardiness, twitter posts, etc?

Then dump both but I suspect Mincey is probably better liked by his teammates than Hardy.

Mincey is definitely gone. That's why he can speak freely abotu the lockeroom. He's not re-entering it.

Hardy will get an offer to come back but chances seem pretty slim it's his best offer.

Whatever you think about Mincey as a player or his performance this year, what he says makes sense: Hardy's pretense at leadership and reality of immaturity and lack of accountability annoyed his teammates. Seems pretty straightforward.

It definitely seems that Hardy is not returning if his teammates are making these kinds of disclosures.

This.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Bottom line is: Hardy's production, or lack there of, undermine's his status as a star player; he may not be worth the trouble.

I think Hardy will be a force next year if re-signed.

Just wind him up and let him go with no distractions.

I would guarantee 16m and offer some sack incentives.

Odd in that they are the ends of the emotional spectrum. One the fiery take on all comers guy and the other boring, calm and collected at all times even as the ship sinks.

People by nature like one take or the other.

Twitter posts? Hardy is no more out there than half a dozen other Cowboys including Beasley and TWill who have both told fans to "shuck it"

Seems like the only real locker room mark against Hardy has been a mention of his meeting tardiness which keeps getting re-alluded to in every "how do you feel about Hardy interview" even if the interviewee doesn't mention it themselves. Oh, that and the fact that Jason had to meet with the scary man on FOUR occasions!

Interesting statements but not really surprising. Funny thing about "team chemistry" is that I have never heard of good "team chemistry" on losing teams. Charles Haley, Michael Irvin and a number of the 90's Cowboys would have been bad for team chemistry had the team not been a winner.

Bring Hardy back next season while Romo stays healthy all season and the team makes the playoffs...will fans and media be saying that parting ways with Mincey helped team chemistry?

The problem there is the team signed him like Dez to be stars. Then Garrett quickly back pedaled from Hardy at every turn.
There are 4 or 5 Cowboys he had to "talk to" about twiiter rants yet Hardy is the ugy he tells the media about.
That undermines Hardy as a leader when the coach is giving you public spankings.
So the discord may very well be a result of that.

Agreed on possibly not worth the trouble.
Also have to decide if the Coach is more worth the trouble or Hardy. One has averages a sack every couple geames for his career. The other a win every couple games for his career.

Garrett lost the WR corps under T.O. and he is lterally hated by Crayton and other guys who played for him.
Hardy was fully supported by the players and coaches in Carolina. It was the owner htere hwo demanded he be gone.

Which guy is really the hard one to get along with.

Hardy is headcase and frankly did not do much this season. He is a player he should be able to follow the rules of the coaches and get called out when he doesn't. Players do not nor should not live by their own rules.

Except under Jimmy Johnson.

You honestly have zero clue about the state of Hardy's head. Multiple players went crazy on twitter. Losing sucks and no one should like it.The non-stop chartacter assainnation Hardy has to endure is pretty ridiculous. His teammates loved him in Carolina and still love him now.

The SAME Mincey was talking up Hardy as a great teammate 6 weeks ago. So whatever drama has happened in that lockerroom with Hardy has been pretty recent.

My bro. who used to work for the Boys, still has many friends there in differing departments and will still go hang with them a couple of games a year. The guys nickname is Tardy Hardy....which I'm sure is common knowledge by many. Basically the guy didn't care to make an impression and it seems the team didn't care to go talk to him and rein him in. Just cut him

You can make any excuses for Hardy his play was not that great, if he is showing up late to meetings and it is a fact he was called into Garrett offense on 4 different occasions then that does tell me there was issues. His teammates in Carolina are winning without him. He is a player subject to the rules like any other player and on a 4-12 team no one deserves slack overlooking it is not how you turn things around. What you may think of me having a clue or not I don't really care but for me I have had enough of the fricken excuses this is a 4-12 team that sorely lacks the discipline and that is cured by holding them accountable not making these stupid excuses for them

I have already decided he isnt.

If I was giving one of the two another shot nest year I'd lean to the talent but understand Garrett is signed, sealed, and delivered for one more season.
But man I'd hate to let Hardy walk then watch him blow up elsewhere and I have to go fire my coach next year.

12 months ago we felt we were 1 pass rusher away from the Super Bowl.

I'd darn sure recall and go over those conversations before writing Hardy off based on his being abig meany the last 6 weeks during an epic failure of a season.
His sack production was the equal of anyone on the team for per game numbers and he was leaps and bounds better as a run stuffing RDE than anyone else we had.
At the time he was far from elite a pass rusher.

So I'd have a number I go to.

But I wouldn't write talent off.

perhaps the guy in charge of the rules is the problem???
