Spoke to my insider yesterday

I ran into to Garrett today at Katy Trail Ice house. If it wasn't for my friends, and embarrassing them, I would have asked what it was like making millions at a job he's completely incompetent at. He was literally 5 feet away from me, and all I wanted to do was talk smack. It really annoyed me how people took pictures with him likes he's some amazing coach. My brother even gave him the Costa sunglasses he wears. That's my story.

If they don't draft an RB or find a top notch replacement, it will be yet another season we miss the playoffs. We take the strength of our ONE decent year, which was having a run first offense and then we try to go bargain budget on the position?
yeah and many on this board think that is the smart thing to do lol

Is this you suggesting this or some "insider" that you know through a friend of yours that works for some other guy whose uncle once shared his Uber with a person that knew a guy who told him a story about his grandfather's little nephew having met somebody at a bar who suggested this to him?

No. This is me suggesting that you have difficulty reading. That ramble only make me think that more.

The Hardy stuff is true. I know someone close to the situation.

He's a beast, but he checked out when we started losing. It is about 90% likely that he will not return.

i think a lot of the issue is that while it's in vogue to pick on hardy for it, look around at the team. there were very few people giving their all at every play and i'd say a good 1/2 the team checked out and just 'went to work' so to speak. i know of a few players that were seriously upset not at losing so much - yes that sucked, but the lack of trying.

if we're going to demonize the lack of effort, get 'em all out there and don't pick on 1 player.

this is my favorite time of year. Did he mentioned he worked previously at liquor store?

honestly, it's replies like this that keep me from posting the few tidbits i get through the year, even when i talk directly to one of the players on the phone for a few shocked minutes. on my part. just not worth the flack you get to pass on what you hear.

In a system that was founded on the right kind of guy, someone with the inclination to be a White House resident returns, but with greater personal bias. In today's society, and sports, go figure unaccountable.

I wish he was a member of the round table, but he is just isn't. Those are some loose strings in a lockerroom that needs commitment.

(coughing) I think that casmith07 well understands the role of leadership and mission.

So basically you need everyone to agree with you or treat you kindly before you make a contribution to this forum?

And don't people attack your position already? Why do you still post if that is so? What makes sharing tidbits of information about the team any different?

I can also confirm this.

By simply paying attention to the normal media coverage.

I always admired Garrett as a player but he has completely pissed me off as a coach.

It easy to get enamored with how he speaks and it just sounds like he knows what he is doing... And then Sunday always comes and you just see how far behind we are the rest of the teams that we play.

And yet the bargain player was only slightly less effective than Murray and did so playing on an offense with two jokers as QBs and no Dez Bryant threat on the outside.

The Cowboys do not and should not invest a ton of cash into the RB position or use a first round pick on a TB. If they want to get a guy like Miller who won't be pricey or draft a kid like Booker or Prosise or Collins in the 2nd or 3rd or 4th round, that's a fine strategy.

let me preface this by saying I'm only sharing this with the board because there are certain members who requested I pass this along. Feel free to believe what I'm telling you, ridicule what I tell you, doubt the legitimacy of what I'm telling you or anything else. Doesn't matter to me as I don't gain squat for this.

The office I work at has a contractor who works on a certain project for our company but is also a member of the Cowboys staff.

So I Spoke to my guy. Asked him why I hadn't seen him in so long and he said his project for our company is about done.
He'll be around every once in awhile to check things out but not nearly as much as before. So that sucks.

Anyway I asked him about the draft, and like before he said he can't go into too much detail, but said we LOVE Wentz. Said we believe he's the real deal and that we've been watching him for some time hoping he wouldn't blow up the way he has. Said he didn't mind sharing this info because it's already out in the media.

Said Jerry really wants Tony to win but understands he's only 1 hit away from us being completely stuck w no QB. So the possibility of us going QB w the first pick is VERY real.

I asked if we'd trade back and he said that's possible if we don't get Wentz. I personally prefer to trade back and asked him what he thought, and he said "it don't matter what I think I'm telling you what THEY want" lol. And said they want Wentz, period. He also said the scouts get paid to know what they're talking about and that they say Wentz can make the throws has the size and ability they want. Said the scouts really like him a lot and he does too. More than Goff and more than Lynch.

I Asked about Hardy and he said it's complicated because Rod knows he's an exceptional talent but his attitude just sucks. He's been telling me this all year. Said reports about him being out of shape aren't really true, he was in shape, just late all of the time and just "did his own thing".

Asked about RB and he says they believe in DMC and expect him to be the guy for another year and draft RB next year.

Asked about 1 tech and he said Hayden needs to be coming off the bench but they aren't focused on a 1 tech specifically. Said they want big athletes that can move. I argued that we should get a huge 1 tech that can get some push and he said "again they want big athletes, period"
Says they are set in their ways and that's it.

Overall he was kinda cranky and I suspect it was because he wanted to go to the senior bowl but they didn't bring him. I wanted to talk to him more but he was on his way to "other projects" so he had to run. Wish I could've got more questions in, but I wanted to pass this along.

I know the Wentz fanatics on the board will probably appreciate this.

If they are drafting a QB, that is music to my ears. Not sure about Wentz, I havent spent much time analyzing him.

The RB issue was not big surprise. The ego will force Jones to be right on McFadden. If we take no RB in the draft and we dont bring in a good veteran, this one decision alone will blow any hope of a miracle run next season.

You admired watching Garrett hold a clip board on the sidelines every week of his career? A little creepy, but thats interesting.

I just always felt ok if he had to play for us.

I knew as long as we had Emmitt it didn't really matter about the rest of the group. We could always win if he was in the backfield.

Just imagine - you start talking smack to JG, his face turns red, and "the stare" comes out. After intensely gazing into your eyes for 27 seconds, he rips off his shirt like Superman, muscles rippling as he does, and claps one profound, superhuman clap, which sends you flying back into the wall 15 feet away.
