Machota: Six Cowboys draft prospects to watch at this week's NFL combine

I'm liking Myles Jack at 4 and Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook at 34 more and more

A trade back is the best choice but everyone knows this and getting equal value is hard

Oh hell no on Cook. Hell %#^%$#ing no.

Cousins, Hoyer and Foles are all starters. Cook will be as well.

It isn't some kind of puzzle. MSU has been producing NFL QBs.

If you can get one with a 2nd round pick that is huge win.

Giving MSU credit for Foles is a stretch. He threw a grand total of 5 passes his frosh year before transferring to Arizona. He also got benched this year and likely will never be a starter again in the NFL. Hoyer is mediocre too. Backup fodder.

So yes, MSU produces NFL QBs. Typically mediocre ones.

Every one of these articles reinforces my belief that we should trade down.

If you don't want a QB or Ramsey I think it's the best choice.

Unless...

Teams feel kinda like a lot of zoners do and think the top of this draft is just media driven and completely different players get selected high than what is currently projected.

With Gregory being a total dipwad, I think it's quite possible Dallas could go Bosa at 4 now.

We'll get a decent idea once we see free agency start. If Hardy is gone and with Gregory a pothead, you could see them going Bosa at 4 IMO.

Would not be a fan of that pick at all.

I am not a big Bosa guy either but if the pass rush isn't addressed in free agency, then you have to think Bosa is a real possibility (or maybe Spence, who I like more than Bosa).

That's what worries me.

With Bosa, I think of his dad - one of the all time stiffs in the NFL.

I don't feel like drafting Bosa really addresses the pass rush.

It's possible. Dallas is foolish if they planned on starting gregory anyway imo.

At any given time they can have 4 starters in the NFL over the last couple years.

That is more than Cal or USC or or FSU.

Minimize if you want but Cook will start football games in the NFL.

THANK you. I've been saying that for 2 months but not too many in here agree. I think we can clean UP by trading down. (if we aren't taking a QB at 4 that is)
I just don't think Goff is worth gambling at 4. Wentz? Maybe, but who knows.

I am also a fan of Cook. He can play

The tape doesn't lie. He absolutely can play and had great games against BIG time opponents....specifically O$U (twice), Stanford and Baylor. He had one bad game against Alabama in 3.5 years of starting. Pro style O and he can be had if we trade down.

Right now the DL is DE-heavy, and 1-technique bereft. Beyond D-Law and Russell and whatever Gregory is allowed to do, Crawford and Irving are both very much DEs in size, speed and motor. Getting both a playmaking starter and competitive depth at 1-technique can allow more interchangeable packages with some of the size and speed at DE and 3-technique. Right now Crawford is almost too pigeonholed at that pivotal 3-technique that Dallas can't afford not to have him there or to shift him around.

Truly, if an offense is game planning against a DL player, it's Tyrone Crawford and not Hayden. Should find someone who can set Crawford free by getting greater or equal blockers attention to what Crawford gets now.

Whether by FA or draft, it's silly to keep adding DEs when the real issue is the interior.

Agreed.

The best pass rusher in this draft is a 250lb guy who has problems with drugs.

We have one already so I'll pass on another.

They are all individuals and not one of them is a superstar regardless, so I don't see how it is a huge win.

That is what I would like to do. We are soft in the middle and next to no disruption comes from there. Plus we showed signs of having issues stopping the run at times.

But I think they will end up saying 1-T is not that important, we have our 3-T in Tyrone Crawford and just talk ourselves into taking another edge because Gregory will be out a quarter of a season.

Our defense just flat out sucks everywhere. The whole stinking thing needs an overhaul..
