I can't believe that all four rounds will be done in one day. Insane effort, Risen. A gift for your resilience today:

Can't wait to do another one of these before the draft so some of the positioning will be fine-tuned.

Everyone should check their team's listing on the team by team selections thread and make sure it's accurate so the grading can be done.

Please visit the team by team selections thread when you have time and assign a number grade to each class. 10 being outstanding, 1 being horrible. Don't grade yourself.

Also tell me who got the biggest steal and which player that was and who had the biggest reach and that player. Again, don't include yourself.

Send that information to me on DM. I'll take grades the rest of the week and hopefully post the report card over the weekend.

You're the man. Thanks again. I wouldn't have the patience to run this, and you do it every year with aplomb.

Explanation of my picks.

First let me say, trading was ridiculous. Nobody wanted to offer anything fairly. "Hey, drop down a round and I'll give you a 12th in 2025?" So I just stood pat and followed my board.

1(21) Jarran Reed DT Alabama
My ideal target, Sheldon Rankins, was long gone. This a huge need area for the Commanders. They need multiple defensive linemen. The only way I wasn't going to go this route with this pick, considering the strength of the class and the value I knew would be there, was if Elliott or Lynch were on the board. They were not so I'll take the great facilitator in Reed. He won't give me pass rush but he will win me the line of scrimmage occupying blockers so that others can.

2(53) Ryan Kelly C Alabama
The Commanders other biggest need. This team is weak in the middle on both sides of the football. The good thing about needing a center is you'll probably find a pretty good one in the 2nd round simply because of position bias. You don't take a C in the first round, right? Quick show of hands. Who here thinks, knowing what we know now, that Travis Frederick is worthy of a 1st round pick? That his impact on the field is worth it? I know I do and I think the same of Kelly. This was a steal. He's the best of the class. I did consider Zack Martin's brother Nick because of his versatality but ultimately decided I couldn't add a relative of a Cowboy to this roster. ~adjusts pig snout~

3(84) Harlan Miller CB Southeastern Louisiana
Small school gem. I had his name circled for the Senior Bowl and he shined. My kind of cornerback. Length and play making skills. Can track the football. I believe he's a good combine showing away from being a top 50 pick. I could easily see him developing into a Dez Bryant eraser.

4(117) Rashard Higgins WR Colorado St.
I seem to be higher on Higgins than most. I think he's absolutely a top 10 WR this year but I rarely see him included. Several WRs went before him that I just don't believe are better than he is. Maybe it's his lack of deep speed but a lot of the others don't have it either. He's a good route runner with very good hands. Student of the game type. It's the NFL Draft. It's a crap shoot but I believe Higgins has a shot to be a productive starter in the league.

-

Of course the big winner was Cleveland. That first pick isn't just franchise altering, it's league altering. The more I think about it, it's probably destiny that he ends up there. There's a reason why the Browns haven't had a logo on their helmet all these years. They were waiting for him. 20 years from now they'll be on the field with Lombardi Trophies on their helmets.

If you can't admit Cleveland bent you over and molested your manhood in this mock, I have no respect for you. Just accept it. Get on your feet, clean yourself up and try again next year. You don't even have your wallet. He took that too.

Much smaller winners - Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Dallas

-

Thank you to Reality for giving me quasi-mod powers to run this and to Mr. MichaelWinicki for all his help every year. Of course, thank you to the GMs involved. Most are excellent.

Atlanta Falcons (Floaty)

1(17) Shaq Lawson DE Clemson

People will say I passed up the better pass rusher in Noah....(Atlanta was last in sacks)...But I think I got a better all around player. Like Risen was saying...nobody wanted to deal....or if they did..I was a ridiculous trade. So I went w/ Lawson who I think will be a top 10 pick come draft day...and was the safer pick considering Noah's drug bust. Other players that I was considering...Robert Nkemdiche DT Ole Miss, Leonard Floyd OLB Georgia, Noah Spence OLB/DE Ohio St.

2(50) Germain Ifedi T Texas A&M

This was the last decent starting tackle...in a draft short on OTs. Other players considered...Shilique Calhoun DE Michigan St. (Almost too good a value to pass up)....Cody Whitehair G Kansas St...2 picks before me...Braxton Miller WR Ohio St. ....Jalen Mills S LSU...Joshua Garnett G Stanford

3(81) Jalin Marshall WR Ohio St.

Kentrell Brothers ILB Missouri would have been the pick had MichaelWinicki NOT scooped him up right before my pick. Great value...

So I turned my attention too......

Getting Julio Jones some help...and there was a bunch of WRs. Tried numerous times to trade down and acquire more picks. Offered to trade 2nd or 3rd round picks in 2017 to try and double up @ the position...which I was unsuccessful. Other players considered..Keyarris Garrett WR Tulsa, Sterling Shepard WR Oklahoma, Duke Williams WR Auburn, Roger Lewis WR Bowling Green and KeiVarae Russell CB Notre Dame

4(112) Jatavis Brown OLB Akron

@ this point it was about getting the best available player.....(was still trying to acquire additional picks....but no success). Thought Brown gave me a guy that could be used in multiple ways..as a LBer or box SS...giving the defense a lot of flexibilty. Could fill the role of William Moore that they just released or he could be that nickle Lber that seems to be in vogue right now like Deone Bucannon of Arizona.
Other players considered...Jordan Howard RB Indiana (great value) Kenyan Drake RB Alabama. Jack Allen C Michigan St...Tyvis Powell SS Ohio St...Sean Davis FS/CB Maryland...Eric Striker LB Oklahoma....Tajae Sharpe WR U Mass...Rees Odhiambo RG Boise St.

Remaining Selections - 7(206)

Original Selections - 1(17), 2(50), 3(81), 4(112), 7(206)

Thought I did okay for the Chiefs. Kipper had Jack Conklin as high as 13 in a recent mock so getting him at the end of the first was great value. He steps in at RT on day one and gives them team bookend tackles for a decade. Would have taken Hunter Henry to pair with Kelce but he went one pick ahead of me.
Will Fuller was another great value at the end of round 2 and is going to a great setup. Maclin is he number one so fuller can come along slowly if needed. KC needs weapons and Fuller is a big time one.
Very excited about my third rounder. I tried and tried to move up for Kentrell Brothers. Very surprised he was still there and was looking for a replacement for Derrick Johnson at ILB. Couldn't find any takers so I stood pat and was thrilled to land Scooby Wright. Equal player and didn't have to give up anything.

Props to Risen. Things like that are what make CZ such an awesome place

49ers

1st- Deforest Buckner- This was just a BPA pick for me. Myles Jack was in consideration, but I felt like Buckner would be graded slightly higher because of scheme fit. And oh yeah...Chip loves him some Ducks. Buckner would be able to come right in and start in a general defensive scheme he already knows, win win for everyone.

2nd- William Jackson III- Tall, long, fast, and makes plays on the ball in the air. Jackson is easily a top 4 CB in this draft for me and 5 were already gone so I was happy to get him at 37. I wanted a WR but Doctson went right before me. Braxton Miller was also in consideration, but Jackson ended being much higher ranked and the obvious BPA.

3rd- Kamalei Correra- The real Mel just mocked Correra in the 1st round, so why is he available here in the 3rd? Don't ask questions and just take the gift. Correra is easily a top 5 3-4 OLB in this weak class and the 49ers are still dealing with the loss of Aldon Smith so grabbing the highest rated pass rusher seemed obvious.

4th- Leonte Caroo- I tried really hard to move up and grab Austin Hooper at the bottom of the 3rd, but got no takers. So I stood pat and watched a lot of WR's go off of the board, but still had Caroo as easily the highest rated WR left. OL was also in consideration here, but didn't love any of the options at OT left. OG Westerman was a thought but ended up going with the skill position player in Caroo.

So the daft is all over for me and I'm scanning the list of who was taken where and...wait, why the hell is Jordan Howard still available?!?! So I started making offers to move move back up and ended up trading a 5th, 6th, and next year's 4th to get the 3rd best RB in this draft. May be a little steep, but went into the draft with 2 5th's and 2 6th's so the loss of picks wasn't really a huge deal...and I really think Howard has a chance to be great.

Starting at the five minute mark, you can see my 4th round choice D.J. Reader imposing his will on Risen Star's 2nd round choice Ryan Kelly after Nick Saban wisely protected his clearly overrated center from Reader's beastly abilities for much of the contest.

Kiper Invitational participants, please note for grading purposes.
