I'd have no problem with Hunter Henry in the second.

The only Henry I want in the 2nd is DERRICK Henry. With TE's becoming more of a specialized OL or big WR, why waste precious resources on this? Get a back up OL to play inline blocker and a bigger wideout to flex outside/slot as a pass catcher. Lots of teams are already doing this because guys like Witten (and even Martellus Bennett) are on endangered species list.
 
We have the best 9 yard, 1 yard short of a first down guy in the NFL he may be a hall of famer but it make me want scream when he ends up a yard or so short.I mean why run the pattern short of the marker.Can anybody remember back about 10 years when he could run a seem route.It has been awhile.

Because it's integral to this offense--an offense that's shown zero ability to adapt under Jason Garret. The same offense still trying to run 12 and 22 personnel after five years of doing it so poorly, it was resulting in an average of around 1 yard per play (from 12 and 22) the first four years they tried it.

If Jerry is married to Garrett through his training wheels years, then we better get married to giving the guy the tools he needs in his scheme, not the one we want or think he should run.
 
there were many great interviews on NFL radio today from the combine. It was one interview after another of head coaches and gm's. A lot of insight from these interviews. A couple of things that Keim also mentioned was that he and the HC look at the mock drafts by these self anointed experts and laugh out loud. He also said that just as important as the physical tools a player may have, if he can't pick up and absorb what is being installed, and if the player can't take notes that make sense to him and study those notes, he won't be trusted by the coaches and thus can't help the team. It's great that they have the physical tools but if they can't pick up their assignments, they are of little use.

Jack Del Rio said that when he was hired that he sat down with the GM and mapped out a strategy to build a team that can sustain through the years. He said that you have to have a plan and stick to it. He said that they are on schedule, next season they want to make the playoffs and win a game. He said its foolish to think that they are one player away and chase trends. It makes you over pay and stray from you plan.

McShay made a case for Wentz that would make you want to trade up to the first pick to ensure you get him. He says the kids intangibles far out weigh the fact that he played at a lesser division. He says the kid is the first in and last out of the complex, and a that football is the most important thing in the world to him. The has all the tools, and the biggest knock from scouts is his lesser division in college.

Very good player
But I think he's long gone by second rnd
He is more of a teaditional TE type who can get open and is a decent blocket
 
Complete TE's disapearing just like quality QB play from NCAA FB.

Very nice tidbits... Love it! I was on my NFL twitter feed and all the media seemingly gave were player updates. Seems I missed a bunch of good stuff today.

I'd agree w/ that statement....
Even our beloved Jason Witten has completely quit blocking. You just don't see TEs block anymore. The last good blocking TE I can recall was Kyle Brady.....It's been that long since a TE has literally knocked someone on their butt. And really it's sad to see...I'm not sure if it's a product of the times/passing league...or it's just not emphisized like it used to be. I have a hard time believing a 6'5 250lbs man can't block if he puts his mind to it.


Has America become that pussified that TEs can no longer block? Please say it ain't so...:(

I like the spread its almost like the Golden State worriors in basketball hard to stop consistently, the game is changing or evolving somewhat but that's y the coaches get paid to coach them up to par

If by "insanity" you mean being realistic about the limitations of Jason Garrett's system and realizing how important the roles of certain players are in it. Then realizing that one of the most important roles is filled by an aging vet without much left in the tank... Yeah sure, "insanity." I call it being realistic.

Better athletes at both LB and Safety contributes to that too. You almost have to be focused on the receiving side, exclusively, to consistently get open against those guy.
