Well as we all know the Patriots are without a first round pick so they could be interested in acquiring a moderately high pick in the draft to upgrade their roster around Brady.

Brady has said that he plans to play into his 40s and he really has shown no signs of slowing down. Garoppolo has two years left on his contract which is the exact number of years we are restricted with Romo due to his contract. First of all, I loved the kid coming out of college. He went to the same school as Romo and has shown a ton of promise since the Patriots spent a second round pick on him two years ago. Not to mention, he has spent two years sitting behind one of the best QBs to ever play the game.

Would you consider shipping our high second over to the Patriots to get our QB of the future and backup QB so we can go defender to build around at pick 4? The Patriots still have time to develop someone and this will give them a chance to land a first round quality player so this is a move that could make sense.

This is an opinion piece that I read prior to posting this that had me intrigued at the possibility.

Wel he was a second round pick and he has only shown some flashes of good things in preseason and sat behind an all time great. I don't see his stock Taking much of a hit.

Brady just agreed to an extension so if the Patriots like someone to develop in this draft...it could make Garoppolo more expendable since his contract will now run our before Brady.

They are trading him while Brady still has a 4 game suspension hanging over him.

I think a better trade would be Leary.

Keep our picks, help them and they could help us.

Sounds good but I don't see equal value. We land a very good backup QB with the franchise QB upside; they land a good guard that has knee concerns. Maybe Leary and a later pick though..

I was coming here to start this exact thread. I'm all for it if they'd take our 3rd.

Their OL is awful though and I think a player like Leary is a serious upgrade for that interior.

Trade #4 to the Rams for their first round pick and their two 2nd round picks. Then flip one of our three second rounders for the kid.

Are they dangling him?

I think it's just speculative at this point. I am sure the Pats wouldn't mind having a better draft pick and Garoppolo may be expendable, especially with Brady signing an extension today. The Pats usually try to get some value from their backup QBs before their contract runs out.

I like Garoppolo, but why does everyone want to overpay for there backups?
Have any of them panned out?

I'd rather draft Lynch in the second than give them our second for a Pats backup.

First is out of the question. So I'd do it for a third.

I would too, but I think Lynch goes top 10.

Id trade a 2nd for Garpopolo. He has franchise potential and would be a better 2016 backup then anyone we draft in the first. Id trade out of 4 and pick up second if we did that though

Boys would be dum to do that but they did give up a 5th for castle lmao

Why would they be dumb? He was a second round pick two years ago and has done nothing to hurt his value besides sit behind an all time great.
