Why would we trade a 2nd round for a QB with 2 years left on his contract. When he will be sitting for 2 years anyway behind Romo.
Then in 2 years his contract is up, and we are back to square one. Needing a back up / future franchise QB
Draft the QB, even in the 2nd round, have him for 4 years.

Because he is better than anyone we can get in the second round? You could likely make an argument he would've been a first round player if he came out in this year.

Like I said, it's just an idea. You are correct, he has two years left on his contract BUT....Romo essentially has two years left on his contract(in reference to the cap), we could make a decision to move on from Romo in two years.

NE isn't giving him up for anything other than a 1st. Even then..,and yes I know of Brady's plan to play he is in his his mid 40's; gimme a break. He's their fall back to Brady crumbling just as if we had a solid backup behind Romo who would keep the team playoff competitive. Would we trade him for less than a 1st?

Why would they be dumb? He was a second round pick two years ago and has done nothing to hurt his value besides sit behind an all time great.

you said in another post they could look at it in the next 2 yrs so why not then... thats what i think they should do and get that SB now with romo getting older plus i dont like the top qbs in this draft
