Judging a players turnovers in college is idiotic.

How about some of you start watching film and reading scouting reports?

It's about MAKING plays. If he is the so called best CB, he has to be able to make plays. Yes wr's are gonna get theirs, Ramsey is gonna deny them at times and knock the ball down, but elite CB's make plays. 3 int's in 4 years is pathetic.

I just don't understand how anyone can really do anything worth anything on this defense with how we play. You don't have a pass rush and you play 10 yards off your receiver.

To Maranelli's credit.....it works. Won't take that from them because the defense surely wasn't the problem last season especially with no support from the offense.

That's not to make excuses for Claiborne. Its pathetic indeed. But from someone who's watched this "bend but don't break" defense...it doesn't seem like its one to really encourage or generate many turnovers unless its from strips.

That's how it should be. Guys on 1 year deals and rookie deals seem to be more hungry and play better. I'm never against these deals. Granted, it hurts when they ball out for you and you have to overpay but i'd rather get that hungry year from them.

AGAIN, judging a player strictly on turnover stats is idiotic. I will not repeat this, here are links to his film. There should be no excuse for your ignorance after this.

7 games for you to evaluate. I'm not here to debate with you what raw statistics you believe acceptable. Watch the tape, evaluate, UNDERSTAND why he's a top 5 prospect.

Some stats are kinda important bro, like sacks for a DE, tackles for LBs and ints for secondary players.

That is why Bosa is not a consensus number one pick, because he lacks the sacks you would expect for a quick twitch DE.

Same with Ramsey, if he had 10 picks last year he would be the consensus number one, but his lack of production (ints) is a big question mark.

You act like this is something that is just made up, many people talked about it during the combine......including actual scouts bro.

Again, for the mentally impaired.

Quiet yourself, evaluate, understand. Then come back to me and see where he was supposed to get these INTs that you feel he should have. If you're not being targeted, you're not going to get INTs. He was a safety, he created 5 turnovers in 2014, 3 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss.

You know what IS important when it comes to corner? QB percentages when targeting a CB, amount of targets towards a CB. And I'm not your "bro".

Let's take a look at another prospects stats

http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/mackensie-alexander-1.html

0 INTs in 2 years. To you, this is terrible. To scouts, this is pretty spectacular since he was hardly ever targeted.

You going by raw statistics is simply lazy.

7 games, that's it? Where are the other 34 games he played in college. Whatever. So you will be happy when we draft the so called best cb at #4. And in 4 years he has 3 int's for us. I wonder if Seahawk fans would be happy if Richard Sherman, one of the best cb's in the NFL had 3 int's in his last 4 years. Instead of 22 in 4 years. But you will make an excuse for that too.

Richard Sherman had 6 INTs at CB in college, while be targeted a crap ton.

Watch the games, Ramsey wasn't targeted enough to have a high amount of turnovers; especially last year. The same with Alexander. I mean, what do you want these CBs to do, warp to the other side of the field? What is hard to understand here?

Lower targets, lesser turnover rates. Here let me give you some statistics

32 solo tackles, 19 assists, 51 total, 1 tackle for a loss, 6 INTs, 6 pass deflections

Would statistics like that change your mind? Are those "top 5" worthy to you?

I am talking about the BEST cb coming out of college. Sherman wasn't. He worked hard to get where he is now. Show me a stat how many times Ramsey was targeted per game.

Thornton will help the strongside end and/or will generate more push himself. The strongside guard cannot just cheat and I would love for teams to consistently isolate their C on him like they did with Hayden. I'm also interested how he takes to the Cowboys stunt and twist game.

We do need to replace Hardy though.

People that are going to make the entire basis for their evaluation on a single stat from a stat line have made up their mind. If the were talking comprehensive like passer rating against:

Ramsey was thrown at 67 times, allowing 37 of them to be caught (55.2 percent) for 315 yards (8.5 per reception). He allowed just one touchdown catch all season, and though he didn’t tally any picks, he did break up four passes.

I might be compelled a bit more.

That is a passer rating of 72 btw.

Now granted a sample size of 67 is tiny and pretending like it's predictive is more than a little gratuitous.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/bl...eys-versatility-makes-him-a-top-nfl-prospect/

This year he has been almost exclusively lined up at corner on the perimeter, and hasn’t even spent much time in the slot. Between the two seasons we have a picture of a player who can line up all across the defense and be deployed any way a defense wants, which is a hugely attractive proposition to any NFL team.

Ramsey finished as our highest-graded draft-eligible corner this season, and while much of that is down to his play against the run (he was the highest-graded corner in the run game by some margin), his coverage grade was additionally excellent — good for sixth in our rankings.

Ramsey was thrown at 67 times, allowing 37 of them to be caught (55.2 percent) for 315 yards (8.5 per reception). He allowed just one touchdown catch all season, and though he didn’t tally any picks, he did break up four passes.

This is all while moving from his far more natural position at safety. He was an all-around great CB last year, doubting this is ignorant and I'll have to guess some bias.

I've also provided you with film that you can watch instead of just needing to rely on stats. I'm sure you'd be able to find his other games elsewhere if you look hard enough.

I really hope you're right. Eagles fans understand him leaving but they seemed to like him.
