My wife then asked me if I was 5.

Then I thought, "Did she mean age or IQ?"

But more importantly...

I can't eat the same breakfast day in and day out. I'd snap.

I have a friend who religiously has Cheerio's and toast every single day.

I can't do that.

One day it's a Captain Crunch. The next day a breakfast Hot-Pocket. The next maybe some oatmeal and toast. Just can't do the same thing every day.

How about you?

Ha! You deserve your Chrunchberries my friend..
variety is the spice of life..

I don't consume breakfast, so I'm easy... my first meal of the day is usually lunch...
but if I do break-fast... Its boiled eggs, fruit.... or something simple.. but that's rare.

Captain Crunch and Raisenbran are the only cereals I eat (I'm 46, unmarried). Anyways, if 5 being you are young at heart, then that's cool. Who wants to be 80 and close minded.

Smoothie with Cheerios, Great Grains Cranberry, Scrambled Eggs, Fried Eggs, Boiled Eggs or Lara Bars depending on my mood...

During the work week I have a protein shake for breakfast. On the weekend I like eggs, grits, sausage, and toast.

Lara Bars are great...
and you can make them yourself.. the base are just dates..
if have a blender, some pitted dates... you can make the flavor you want based on the other ingredients... (peanut butter powder over peanut butter, if you like that flavor... because the oil has been removed, the fat volume is less)

Weren't the Cowboys on a cereal box back in the day during one of their superbowls in the early 90's? I think I kinda remember that.

Stopped eating breakfast over 30 years ago.

Unless you call breakfast eating breakfast foor for dinner at Denny's. :D

I never eat cereal for breakfast. But I do have a bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats every night. Ensures the ol' morning constitutional, if you know what I mean.

Didn't used to eat breakfast but started a few weeks ago. Now every morning I make a two egg omelette with coconut oil, salt, pepper, shiitake mushrooms, green onions and feta cheese.

You guys are crazy for missing the most important meal of the day. I absolutely love breakfast... For lunch, dinner it doesn't matter, breakfast is great.

Raw cashews, few pieces of beef jerkey, Greek blueberry yogurt (from trader joes), black coffee, water and an omelette. The breakfast of champions.

I went from 230 -> 190 and I am in the best shape of my life with 16% BF. Since I've stopped skipping breakfast I found my self losing a lot of weight in addition to going to the gym 5-6 days a week for building strength/muscle.

Low calorie, high in protein :)

I kinda went off topic a bit but I think you guys get the point.

Cashews and beef jerkey for breakfast?

Cashews and beef jerkey for breakfast?

Yes about a handful of raw unsalted cashews and 3-4 pieces of peppered jerkey as a snack.

I should of clarified I don't eat the cashews and jerkey first thing in the morning. Omelette, coffee/water and Greek yogurt for breakfast. I use the cashews and jerkey as a snack in between breakfast and lunch.

For me personally eating small meals/snacks throughout the day helped curve my appetite and ultimately lose weight. It also helps that they are both low calorie and high in protein and the cashews add the healthy fat.

I started doing paleo recently. Mushroom omelette for breakfast. Salad (sometimes with meat) for lunch. White meat (chicken, turkey, fish) and vegetables for dinner during the week. Red meat and vegetables for dinner on weekends. Snack on berries, nuts and cacao.

I think you should heed the advice of your better half on this one. Of all the cereals to choose from, you choose that. I liked cereals like Capn Crunch until I hit puberty. I tried the stuff again about 25 years later when I introduced it to my Japanese wife. She thought that cereal was awful and disgusting. I agreed with her.

While you were eating the Capn Crunch you should have asked her to make you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch too. Twenty and thirty-something people in my office still bring that to lunch. One 33 year old guy has PBJ almost every day for lunch. I haven't had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich since I was maybe 12 or thirteen.

My wife is a nutritionist from Japan. She is shocked and appalled at what Americans eat and the meals mothers prepare for their children here.

Sure if we are living in Japan. Here in America, we all have different lifestyles. Makings us Americans. And peanut butter and jelly is a staple in American meals. For kids and adults.
