Would like to see the cost of the deal before saying this is a good move, but for the most part I think Alfred Morris is a very good RB who should be able to help the Cowboys running game.

I like the signing depending on the numbers. If healthy, Morris fits our zone scheme quite well. He has a great cut and is a load to handle. Problem is he's a so-so pass protector and nothing in the passing game. But can help carry the load and help in short yardage. I could see him and DMC making life difficult for defenses with DMC's speed and Morris' physicality.

Love it  Morris has had 1,000 plus yards in 3/4 of his seasons in the NFL. There's obviously something there and he's not just another body to throw into the rotation. My concern is that he needs an RG3 type QB running the option to be most effective. Hopefully all he needs is the best O-line in football. Best thing about Morris is that he hasn't missed a game in his NFL career. Played all 16 games in his first 4 years. But I think him and DeMarco are actually similar players and Morris could have similar success if given the touches.

I did really want Zeke though but the pick now has to be a stud on defense like Ramsey, Bosa or Jack. Whatever we do... please no QB at 4.
I honestly don't care about how good a "dude" he is. It's meaningless.

This is so very wrong.
Ask players like Witten and Church what they think of Hardy, and how he cast a dark cloud in the locker room. I know this to be fact, Witten and many others hate Hardy.
Bad players affect chemistry and bad chemistry affects over all attitude.
If you dont see the importance of trying to maintain good chemistry, than you cant see the difference between this locker room now with team leaders and captains like Byron Jones, Hitchens, Lawrence, Russell, etc... a proper role model for your young future franchise players is imperative in building a team that wins.
Ignoring that fact like we did during the "Pacman Jones" era,, only sets you back decades.

It will be nice to not see our Cowboys defenders diving and falling to the ground to avoid tackling this guy while he is running over them again and again for huge chunks of yardage. Those images were brutality at it's finest!:-(

I think Morris benefited from the zone read offense the Skins played his rookie year. But his success wasn't ALL about the scheme. He runs hard and breaks a ton of tackles. He's only 27 and is prolly fairly cheap.

Great OL. Change of scenery. Decent chance of lightning in a bottle. I like it.

I could see us using him heavily as a 4th quarter closer, when we are trying to bleed the clock and punish the opposing D-Line. That comes with a pile of assumptions:
  1. Alfred still has some gas left in the tank.
  2. We can use DMC effectively in the first 3 quarters (i.e., he remains healthy and productive) when you need the pass protection as well as the ground yardage.
  3. We can use Dunbar (i.e., he remains healthy) as the change-of-pace back a la Darren Sproles and pile up yardage through the air to a RB.
  4. We can build up to a lead in the 4th quarter.
  5. Romo remains healthy.
While I think this gives us a stable of solid RBs on the roster right now, there is still plenty of room for improvement, and plenty of risk for the RBs to remain healthy.

Thus,I hope to see a Jonathan Williams or Kenneth Dixon in a Dallas Jersey on 4/29.

Cant' complain about that, comes reasonable enough to celebrate like it's 1990...uhmmmm...9! Like that one time you found that free cell phone in the Wal-Mart parking lot, with all them numbers already downloaded on it.

Two year deal makes some sense. McFadden and Dunbar are UFAs at the end of the year.

IF he plays well, we at least have a veteran back signed through next year.

I agree. I think we still go running back early on. Dunbar could start year on pup so we need all hands on deck for offense

I guess their thinking is, why have a great running game when you can have a good one.
