So Leary and Looney are the backups inside. Brown and Green at OT. Still have Martin and Collins who can kick outside in case of emergency. Unless Free is a surprise cut, we probably won't see an OL drafted until very late. Perhaps they take a flier on an OG late.

If we are being honest that group is now as good as one from Super Bowl teams.

Makes me wonder some about Leary.

I would think Looney dresses for games since he can back up center and guard, and we'll dress a swing tackle.

With Leary not dressing, are we better served trying to get something for him in a trade or keeping him as the guard who would take over full time if either Collins or Martin is hurt?

Signing Looney has nothing to do with Leary.

Looney gives them a backup at center and guard. Leary is not a center. Leary could conceivably play some tackle, as he did at Memphis.

This is a solid addition this late in the game. Looney can provide depth at both guard positions and at center. Very smart player as well.

Yeah, I don't see it happening. Just a possibility. I don't think any other WR would be worth taking at 34 considering all our needs. Especially if we go QB in the 1st round. That'll mean we won't address defense until the 3rd.

I'm actually starting to get on board with offense the first 3 picks and defense the rest of the draft. Give me a Wentz, D Henry, and WR and let the offense dominate, and hopefully pull the magic from 2014 on D. Plus, Gregory, although a dumb you know what, could come on like we all hoped he would. Throw in the Wilson kid from last year that was a tackling machine at Minny and who knows?

If all falls that way I guess I'd be okay with it. I can see a few instances where an offensive player would be the BPA, in which case I couldn't complain with going that direction. But I'd prefer we address defense early and often in this draft. We really need play makers on both sides of the ball. Hopefully we snag a few.

This was a great move on Looney's part. Who wouldn't want to be apart of the best OL in football. Just look what that did for Bernadeau!

Yeah. When you saw "Cowboys" you knew.
Cmon Risen. You are falling into the "depends on the contract" type person. Either he is a decent player or he isn't. The money shouldn't be your concern. Did the signing help the team should be.

It would likely be Goff, Henry, Wr, etc. but feel your point. We have to trade up to 1 or 2 for Wentz.

Unless you can get something significant for him the depth is worth keeping him. If a guard goes down he is a starter quality backup and could be starting any week

Best part of this signing is we're not using a mid round pick on a back up interior offensive lineman.

Right Dallas? Right? Oh please God tell me I'm right.

I could see a 6th rounder, because they would stand a fighting chance of getting the guy to the practice squad... 4th rounder? No.

There's a point at which it's a bad deal, obviously. But at this point in FA for what's clearly a young backup filling the position of a player we just let walk in order to save money, it's a safe bet that we're talking about a reasonable contract here.

Not necessarily. This is just 'protect the team' time. Fill in as much of the roster as you can, and then use the picks for the best possible players. The best 53 make it out of camp. It's the luxury you get when you don't sign expensive quality free agents, if you want to call it that.

That's a pretty naive way to look at it. Money doesn't matter in free agent signings? Just whether the guy can play?

You do realize there's such a thing as a salary cap right?

I'll never be on one of these guys who just belches out good move simply because I read Cowboys sign. Tell me the deal. Then I'll give you my opinion on the deal. Seems fair.
