Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign OL J. Looney to two year deal

You have a gift evaluating a free agent signing without the numbers known.

Or was this merely your Cowboys gag reflex at work here?

What about this offseason and how late into the game Looney signed...makes you think the deal is anything BUT reasonable?

Or is your gag reflex to do the snark thing for internet friendships...I mean likes..

It sounds like a good move. The only thing I question a little bit is whether it would have been better to have used that money for Crawford. But I don't know what he received or what Crawford is seeking.

Struggling to care about this very much. This was just protecting ourselves, but that's ok.

And I think we all know what sort of contract this is going to be. He's a young journeyman OL with a little bit of starting experience. We probably don't need to overreact to the word 'solid' around here. Or do we?

I agree. I think it's a nice signing of a much younger replacement for Bernardeau at backup guard/center.

If they can double-up with the upgrade of Jason Jones over Mincey, I'll be doubly glad.

But it beats crying when injuries hit the offensive line...I'll take it, and be happy.

Yeah, but we've dodged a bullet re Center the last few. This is just a solid pickup. Swing tackle would be nice. Maybe that is already covered.

Since I've used it then.......NO.

Bernadeau didn't count? He looked like a pretty good backup center to me.

I thought he was an adequate backup at G but I never liked his feet (what kept him from being a long term starter in the league) at C. He isn't a pulling machine but that's ok for a backup. I was always on record about him not being a bad player but also never thought he was a starter either. Strong, good punch, but poor feet and all that goes with that.

I'd take him in the 3rd or possibly with a trade down. Just not sure he's worth #34 overall when there will still be a lot of good players on the board. If we traded down and picked up multiple 2nd round picks, I'd be all for spending one of them on Henry... I'd definitely take Treadwell if he's still there at 34.. He's easily the best talent that could possibly still be available at 34.

No way Treadwell makes it to 34. WR'S are hot commodities these days. Didn't they have 4-5 in the 1st round just recently?

Yeah, I don't see it happening. Just a possibility. I don't think any other WR would be worth taking at 34 considering all our needs. Especially if we go QB in the 1st round. That'll mean we won't address defense until the 3rd.
