Those Sleeping On 2016 Dallas Cowboys Are April Fools
http://insidethestar.com/sleeping-2016-dallas-cowboys-april-fools/

2015 was a rough year. A punch in the gut. A kick in the teeth. I mean, for crying out loud, Matt Cassel was our quarterback for a while and at one point was so bad that he got called for intentional grounding while throwing an interception.

The world of the National Football League is a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately kind of business, and that’s fine as far as I’m concerned. The Cowboys haven’t done much lately so they’ve been written off by a lot of members of the national media.

On the first day in April people tend to prank those around them in a tale as old as time called “April Fools.” Well I’d like to think that the entire 2015 season was an April Fools Joke that the Cowboys played on the NFL.

You know the facts. Dez Bryant went down. Tony Romo went down. Then he got up. Only to go down again. The Cassel Coaster. The Moore Machine. Things were so grim that at one point we actually missed Brandon Weeden.

April Fools, NFL.
The Dallas Cowboys are not joking around this season. Playtime is over and they’re out to prove to the world that they are who they were (shout out to my boy Denny Green) in 2014.

America’s Team has already gotten off to a fantastic start in Free Agency, despite some initial chagrin from the loyal members of Cowboys Nation. If you’ve read my stuff before (Hi Mom & Dad!) then you know how much I love Alfred Morris...

This ought to be interesting.

I was a dogface for 23 years and was a first responder in a caustic environment. Fire and rescue in the highest processing caustic solution allowed in the US...50% lime...and now work in a large refinery...I'm ready. Throw in about another 2-3,000 workers in a turn-around...

What say you crybabies? He called you fools.

I know you'll probably try to comeback with some cute witty retort but, after the season admit you are fools. It's for your own development.

I dont know what prank hes referring to that the boys are playing on the rest of the NFL? This article makes no sense to me. We sucked last year and without a QB this year, if Romo goes down again, we will suck next year. With a healthy team we are contenders next year. If we draft a QB at 4, is that a prank? If we dont is that a prank? I dont get it. I personally dont think we are fooling anyone in the NFL. I think they have a good bead on what the boys will do on April 28th. If the mediots are shocked it just shows how out of touch they are.

this is a average team with average talent average coaches and average front office and the total record over the last six years and twenty years reflects as much.

Average in like a .500 record the last 20 years or so? Not average in media attention, which is what our owner craves.

I find it very amusing that many of you are very upset with the Cowboys offseason thus far. They got a major upgrade on the interior of their line which was a glaring weakness last year. We got very little pentration up the middle which made it easy to run on us and made the edge rusher job harder. Yes we havent improved the de position, but 3/4 on our dline are pretty good players that will be productive. Keep in mind were not running the 34 so the pass rush doesnt necessarily have to come from the edge. I do agree it would have been nice to add a solid de in free agency for depth and to start if needed, but lets be real a Chris Long type of player will not be a big difference maker in improving the defense. Despite common belief the secondary wasnt that bad last year and our pass defense was ranked 5th. Yes there were meltdown moments late in games and our safety position could be upgraded, but I think these struggles can be largerly attributed to allowing the qb to stand in the pocket and not push him left or right. For those panicking this defense is in a much better spot than 2014 and we still havent even gotten to the draft. You even have players like Hardy and Mincey on the street right now available to sign if needed.

Backup QB is a concern right now, but we likely address this in the 1st or 2nd round. If not, im sure we trade for someone or give Kitna a call.

Aside from that I love the signing of Morris. Also glad to see us keep some of our younger talented players on low risk deals. Overall the Cowboys have played it smart this offseason knowing theyll have an opportunity to address needs with premium draft picks and not overpaying in free agency.

It's the world's longest running prank, like getting a chair pulled out from under you every day for 7300 days,,, and this PJ blogger is in on it.

As my step-daddy always said, "Never sneak up on a man who had been in a chemical fire!"

Good read CC.

The joke being we were planning to trade up the whole time is all I could get out if it? Sarcasm is hard to read though:D

People need to stop looking at passing yards given up as a barometer of how good the pass D was. Because it wasn't very good.

Dallas allowed opposing QBs a 95 passer rating last year. 20th in the league.

Dallas had 8 total interceptions last year. Tied for 2nd to worst in the NFL.

Dallas gave up 7.6 yards per attempt last year. 23rd in the league.

Football Outsiders, who does a lot of advanced stats, had the Dallas pass D in the high teens per some of their measures.

They were, at best, a mediocre pass D.
