I think most teams that look at the Cowboys would think it is unlikely we would take a left tackle. So, if they're calling, it would probably be the Jags for #5.

Keep the value of 4th overall at a max and keep 'em guessing.

That's just it, this whole thing is very fluid. Even they likely no idea who they're taking, and won't until draft day, because depending on how things fall in the first three picks, there might be a feeding frenzy for a QB or "can't miss" prospect like Ramsey or Elliot. So I'm sure they've got their list of guys but ONLY if no one offers them a big trade. And no one is going to offer them a big trade until they see who is still on the board.

With that said, I say we should drop no more than two spots to the Ravens, pick up an extra pick, get Ezekiel at #6, draft all defense after that, and let's go win some championships.

4 comes into play if one of the QBs drops or Tunsil is there and someone behind us like Baltimore or even the Titans want to move up.

That's just it. If the QB's come into play, they do so at 2, or at the latest 3.

All I am saying is if I am Jones and I want to keep all my options open, I don't just announce to the world that no one wants my 4th pick.

And while I do appreciate what you're saying, in this case, I don't think his faux pas matters all that much.

If someone wants their quarterback, they're talking to Cleveland, not Dallas. Now, if Tunsil falls to #4 during the draft? I expect our phone to ring then.

When you tell people that no one is really inquiring about the 4th pick, you aren't driving up the value of the pick, you are actually lessening it. Now some teams might think that we are stuck and no one wants our pick so maybe they can come in with a lower offer and if we panic, we'll take it.

None of that matters come pick 4. When Tunsil, Ramsey or a Qb is sitting there the phone will ring. Jones knows this. Its only a matter of who wants who. These team that will have interest in our pick may want to wait to see if thier guy is there before calling, instead of putting the horse in front of the cart.

Very true but I struggle to find the benefit in saying that no one really has any interest in your 4th pick.

I think if teams know the demand is already high, it can scare some off because they know the asking price is going to be steep. So by saying no one has really contacted them, it might stir additional interest among those who thing they might get first consideration?

Thin, I know. LOL.

............

Yeah, that sums it up.

There's more value at DT in this draft which is why Stephen mentions moving Crawford to end. Could end up with a 3 tech at #4 or in the second round.

hmmmmm............

Putting the horse in front of the cart is what I would do. Philly fans would put the cart in front of the horse.

If by some crazy miracle Tunsil is at 4 I think the Titans make a trade up to get Tunsil, the player they would have drafted at 1. They have more than enough fire power to move anywhere in the draft now.

Interesting he mentions Crawford playing outside. A first round talent DT will be available at our pick at 34, I could see a scenario where they draft a very good 3T at 34, then move Crawford to LDE and DLaw to RDE.

Or say they are able to move down within the top ten. That means Rankins is in play.

Or maybe they move Bosa to the 3 and Crawford outside on 3rd downs?

if I'm drafting a DE with the 4th pick, he better be rushing the passer from the WSDE on third down and creating havoc. You don't draft a DE with the 4th pick to move him inside on passing downs.

Why not? If he's the consensus best DE in the draft and has shown he can get pressure from the 3 tech? And your 3 tech is a guy who can also get pressure from the outside?

I think we all want the quick-twitch rush end we hear so much about. That guy's not there at the top of this draft, though. But the guy who is is a pretty good player in his own right.

That is an encouraging thought process.

Trade down, Sheldon Rankins please and thank you.

If he is only a marginal improvement over what Jason Jones and David Irving would give you, Id much rather trade down or take Ramsey or Elliot.
