You could do some serious damage with back to back picks at the top of the 2nd and close to each other in top of 3rd

The amount of talent at positions of need at those picks is crazy this draft. And they'd all be BPA, or very close to it. You could literally just say "Okay, I'm only going to target DL, secondary, and WR in the first 3 rounds" and you'd get some great value. Even spending a top pick in the 2nd on a #2 WR gives you 2 more picks in the top 35 for defense. Then two more in the top 70.

You'd be crazy not to do that deal.

That'd be the worst trade in history to move down 11 yes eleven spots. No way we do this without all 3 of their 2nd rounders and the Rams 1st. The Eagles have set the market for trading up this draft and that was for 6 spots. The can keep the Rams third and we can sweeten it with a player or later pick but no way do we drop 11 for a 2nd and 3rd ONLY!!

MINIMAL: 2 2ND ROUNDERS AND A FIRST IN 2017.

Why wouldn't they just deal with Chargers though?

They certainly could, it would depend obviously on what happened at pick #3. But if Tunsil isn't taken there by the Chargers or someone else, he could be in play for the Cowboys or for a trade.

You could end up with something like
Rankin/Dodd/Alexander/Henry

or some variation
say
Lynch/Dodd/Alexander/Day

Kiper and McShay did a live mock yesterday and Conklin when above Stanley. But that's the first real draft expert (for lack of a better term) that has Conklin within ear shot of the other two.

Yeah Kiper was on the radio pumping up Conklin. Saying he's the hot guy.

Honestly i think these guys just make up stuff to add intrigue to the draft.

Dont know what to believe these days..but the talk is that Conklin is "rising" and is the hot guy now. Maybe the gap between Tunsil and Stanley/Conklin is not as wide as initially reported.

I think it's more a case of people realizing that Tunzil and Stanley could be gone in the first 6 picks. If that's the case, then Conklin will rise because the Giants reportedly want an OT.

I'd hate to drop to 15. If we do, and Elliott falls a little, I'd want to trade back up and still grab him.

Just heard on the radio John Clayton say that if SD does not draft Tunsil, there very well could be a deal with the Titans and Dallas. The Titans were considering drafting him #1 and they want him very badly. They would send their #15 pick, and then a #2 and #3 to Dallas for #4.

I thought they wanted out of the top spot to get a lot of picks. Anyways, it probably won't happen, but what is your opinion.

I would need two #1 to drop from #4 to #15. Just feel franchise LT carries that weight.

Tell you how crazy it is now - Louis Riddick said don't be surprised if the top four QB's are all taken in the first round. Scouts view Cook as kind of an Andy Dalton type player and Hackenberg as Alex Smith. Neither will carry you, but you could ride them with great talent around you, keep you competitive and appease the fan base.

I would ask Chiefs and Bengals fans how that's going for them so far.

Exactly - I was thinking the same thing and if we could get him while keeping one of those extra picks we still come out ahead.

One thing though - better get in at 9 or better because no way he gets by the Giants.

If they gave you their 15th and two 2nds...that basically what you'd get if you wanted to trade back into the 1st round with those extra 2s. Pending having a trade partner.

I don't like it unless we just don't feel there's a difference between who we can get with the fourth pick and who we can get with the 15th.

The only way a trade like this is worth it is if the draft isn't strong at the top but is deep.

Hopefully, we won't be drafting fourth very often so we need to take advantage of being in that position. I know that a trade netting us multiple picks is taking advantage, but not if we miss out on a much higher-rated player.

LOL.

There ain't a frog's chances in hell you'd get that for the 4th pick.

You are forgetting something in your analysis. The 2nd pick is far more valuable than the 4th pick. Further, QBs are the most heavily sought after players in a draft and when there are only two that are Top 5 players and both will go 1-2, the value of the 2nd pick goes up even more than the 4th.
