Possibly so if opposing teams had ever been forced to throw the ball last year. Being 31st in passes seen doesn't help your pass rush. Beyond that like I said D-Law wasn't really coming on until the second half of the season (when he was averaging about a sack a game from the wrong side).

Are you just going to keep nitpicking little points and not look at the larger picture that yes D-Law was a top 10 LDE the second half of last year, yes Crawford was a top 10 3-tech all of last year, as was Thorton at 1-tech

I am excited about the future of the D line because it has no where to go but up. However, excited about this year would be a strettch for even the most casual of fans.

It's exciting because we do not know the level of play of almost all of the guys or how they will work together as a unit.

What I find exciting is how it will look at the end of camp and preseason. How will the rotation play out? Will Lawrence not be suspended? If he isn't is he a right end again as he should be or is he left end? What is mayowa and how does he fit? Is irving a left end to play the run?

I find it exciting because of the unkown but I am fully aware this team will not dictate games on the line of scrimmage for most of the season.

I expect the D-Line to be much better. There were 3 to 4 plays per game where an end might get some pressure only to have the QB step up into clean pastures with no pressure in the middle. You need multiple guys to get real pressure on the quarterback. This team seemed to take turns hunting.

It will be an interesting "process." I don't recall a cowboys defense having these many needs and having all the uncertainties. Not a big fan of Marinelli but this year he will have certainly earned his pay.

Count me as excited, too. The Cowboys won 12 games in 2014 with a d-line with far less talent.

I like the pickup of Cedric Thornton (powerful run stuffer) and of course Maliek Collins. Charles Tapper is a guy they can line up all over the line. A lot of my fellow zoners here like David Irving's potential, but I think Ryan Russell can be a player too.

Never said that. You only told me that Thornton was one of your 3 top ten DL at their positions after I posed my question. Again, back up your claim instead of dissembling.

Not really concerned about missing Gregory. He and his 0 sacks and 11 tackles won't be missed all that much.

Good work. Checks out. I was going to bring up New Orleans who was 18th in PPG, but after checking they were #1 in takeaways.

I will just have to hope Rod can get this crew back to where they were in 2014 in regards to turnovers.

They are going to have to have leads to do that. Last year teams could be patient knowing that our offense could not score and unquestionably played small ball, expecting the defense to finally cave which it eventually did.

Well, if all goes to plan and we are putting up 30 points a game with Zeke, then the Defense better get ready and be able to rush the passer because teams will hopefully be playing from behind and chucking the ball around.
