And for the typical, like clockwork, responses of Lynch being trash....

That must make our scouts trash.

Which makes Will McClay trash.

I'll now watch your heads explode.

Is this somehow supposed to make me change my mind on Lynch?

You understand a scouting team can be right on one player and wrong on the other? Stop with the stupid argument.

Lynch has the potential to be a franchise Qb,I doubt Prescott has the potential to even be a backup QB in the NFL.

I think Prescott is a bum. A one read simpleton. You better have an historic defense and great run game if that's your future at QB.

ESPN reported that 80% of Prescott's passes were within three yards of the LOS. My expectations are that he'll be much worse than Stephen McGee.

Right. Which is why you can take his stats and flush them. They mean nothing.

Now he's going to have to play big boy QB. That garbage college offense isn't going to fly here. He's got to read defenses, work through his progressions, stare down NFL pressure in his face, make sound decisions and make throws into tight windows. All with the proper footwork and technique.

I'd be stunned if he was a successful NFL QB. He'll make some big plays just off of athletic ability but a consistent winning NFL QB he is not.

You can grade this draft a big fat F is this guy convinces Harry and Lloyd to waste years on him after Romo.

Lynch had 758 completions on 1205 attempts for 62.9% completion rate and 7.36 yards per attempt. He had 8,863 yards passing with 59 TDs and 23 INTs. He ran the ball 288 times for 687 yards with a 2.4 yards per avg with 17 rushing TDs.

Prescott had 734 completions on 1169 attempts for 62.8% completion rate and 8.02 yards per attempt. He had 9,376 yards passing with 70 TDs and 23 INTs. He ran the ball 536 times for 2,521 yards with a 4.7 yards per avg with 41 rushing TDs. Also, he had 4 receptions for 88 yards with 3 TDs.

Prescott played in a much tougher conference having to face LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, etc every year. I'm thinking that we did pretty good by not trading up and giving our 2nd and 3rd round picks away for Lynch when we may have gotten a more dynamic player at the end of the 4th round in Prescott.

I am not going to argue over whether or not Lynch was worth a 2nd and a 3rd.

But there's a reason why he was taken in the 1st and was largely thought of as a first round talent heading into the draft and Prescott was viewed as a mid-round or lower guy.

Maybe we get lucky with Prescott but trying to compare stats and conclude they are equals is probably a stretch at this point.

If Prescott isn't the future, the team will either sign a free agent veteran or draft a rookie to play quarterback in the future.

It's not rocket surgery.

Not rocket surgery but mighty expensive in terms of draft picks to get up where the best qb's usually go. Best case is presscott turns out to be a good one

What's it going to be then, eh?

So this means they were right on Lynch since we didn't get him, but we lucked out since they were wrong on Prescott?

I am confused which way to wave the pom poms.

Please help.

Yeah!

Guys we liked and didn't draft are trash.

Guys we drafted are Hall of Famers. Unless they aren't and then it's because of freak injuries or something.

It's quite simple.

Precott will make them realize that these late RD QBs are not worth the trouble once and for all, expect our next first Rd pick to be a QB.

I didn't like Lynch before the draft, I was ranting about him being trash in the chat. Want to go pull up threads on Lynch before the draft to see what I said?

So direct your idiocy towards someone else.

What separates good Quarterbacks from great Quarterbacks is how their Brain is wired. Most of the great of quarterbacks of years past have had the ESTP or FEIR Brain type. Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, John Elway, Joe Montana, Dan Marino all have the ESTP Brain type. Check out the below link which provides some background on brain types as they relate to Quarterbacks.

I just hope if three years from now were looking for a new qb, we dont pass on someone because the organization thinks Dak is the answer when he hasnt even played. I would love to see Dak develop into the guy, but he has a lot of work to domin developing accuracy and consistency.

"FEIR" is simply a translation from the Myers-Briggs scale, and the MB isn't a clinical scale. That doesn't mean there can't be some usefulness found, but I wouldn't start betting on it. I like how Niednagel simply renamed the scale and claimed to be making it "useful". Because names.

Dak is athletic, has a pretty good arm, has some wheels and by all accounts is a smart kid who improved reading defenses every year.

He needs to clean his mechanics up a bit, which coaching can do.

Is he a long shot sure, but the kid has a chance, about all you can hope for in a 4th round QB.

But he does have a lot of attributes you look for, I would rather have Dak in the 4th as a developmental guy then what we would have had to pay for Lynch.

Below are Characteristics of an ESTP based on analysis by Braintypes.com

Appearance: relaxed, untailored clothing (normally) yet may dress fashionably (even daringly) for the occasion, jewelry not uncommon on men, women are often slightly masculine or strong, flamboyant, body conscious, often well-built and in shape, muscular, hard look, aggressive, provocative, teasing, athletic, EI “hawk eyes”
Personality: risk-taking, energetic yet in a stress-free way, engaging the world, free-spirit, usually athletic, speaks quickly and simply, not a conversationalist, may be a poor listener, self-centered, self-directed, egotistical, proud, exciting, impetuous, impulsive, may be foolhardy, reckless, hotheaded, cunning, street smart, opportunistic, often short tempered
Athletic Characteristics: superior hand-eye coordination (fine motor positioning), strong upper body, tough-minded, aggressive, operates at high gear, moves quickly, not a planner, die-hard, powerful, “enforcer” mentality, thrill-seeking, venturesome, antagonistic, hardliner, deceptive, spontaneous, offensive-minded, often breaks the rules of the game just to break them, highly tactical.

To me, Dak Prescott is the only quarterback in this class that I look at and see as an ESTP.
Appearance - muscular, hard look, aggressive, hawk eyes
Personality - engaging the world, free-spirit, usually athletic, speaks quickly and simply - Dak speaks well and gets straight to the point -not wordy
Athletic - superior hand-eye coordination (fine motor positioning), strong upper body, tough-minded, aggressive, operates at high gear, moves quickly, not a planner, die-hard, powerful

Dak has Hawk Eyes

I think he has the special ESTP Brain type.

Interesting discussion on brain types relating to Quarterbacks
