Camp body, not impressed. Should have signed Aminu Silatolu (Bears picked up recently) or traded for retired but still young players like D'Brickashaw Ferguson or Anthony Davis.

Trade for retired players. Because they'll play just because we want them to. Gotcha

Ah, the maroon is back. Picking up a young retired player is not a new idea, even to the Cowboys. Learn your history, or you could just stop.

Cowboys signed OT Cameron Bradfield.

Bradfield, 29 in September, has been out of the league since making two starts for the Jaguars back in 2014. He has 41 career games and 27 starts under his belt and will compete with Charles Brown, Chaz Green, and others for a backup job.

So I guess it is official now. This is telling on Brown and the others. No way they go this route without something even health issues going on.

This signing might be an indication that both Chaz Green and Charles Brown aren't developing as well as the staff had hoped.

Really? Chaz isn't developing as hoped? We haven't even started training camp yet. This is nothing more than a camp body.

Meh

But if it helps someone stay healthy or gives them time to heal up...so be it...aka camp body.

With decent starting experience who could at least give Green and Brown some competition.

Quite frankly, I don't think Dallas is happy with Brown from what I've read this offseason.

Ok. Was in ATL in 2014. Maybe this is a Lionel Vital special.

Good news, started 27 games in the NFL. Bad news, has been out of football since 2014. Not seeing too much to get excited about, here.

No, but with Green being green and Brown being bad, we still need a primary backup tackle.

At this point, I'd probably shift Martin to right tackle or Collins to left tackle if we needed someone to step in and put Leary at guard. If we put either Brown or Green out there, it might get Romo killed.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Green looks in camp. Somebody needs to step up and take that swing OT role.

It's nice that we've got options with multiple players with position flex, too, but you always hate to weaken two positions to fix one.

Stephen Jones was pretty effusive about Green at this year's season ticket holder session, anyway. They probably aren't too down on him.

I don't remember hearing anything bad re Charlie Brown, but it wouldn't shock me if he were to have come in overweight or not in shape.

I'm thinking they probably just liked this Bradfield's starting reps to bring him in to push people.

How about an idea that makes actual sense? Trade away draft picks for a player who has to agree to come back into the NFL. I'm sure this idea sounded better in your head.

I do think with Leary, though, and even Looney to some extent that our strongest lineup if we lose a tackle at this point would be inserting one of them (especially Leary) and kicking either Collins or Martin outside. Weakening two positions is better than playing a tackle who's a complete liability.

I'm hoping that Green comes on as well and makes it a moot point (plus it would be nice if could count on him to eventually replace Free instead of having to eventually spend another first on a lineman). I don't hold out much hope for Brown at this point in his career. Maybe Bradfield will be a better choice despite being out of football since 2014 as the other backup tackle.

Here's more on Bradfield:

In the wake of a performance where Chad Henne was sacked 10 times and their offense managed a total of only 148 yards, the Jacksonville Jaguars have released Cameron Bradfield, a fourth-year veteran who started the first two games of this season for them at right tackle.

The news was first reported Tuesday by the Florida Times-Union, which cited a league source.

Bradfield was primarily responsible for the four sacks recorded by Washington Commanders outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan and was benched in favor of Sam Young during the fourth quarter of the Jaguars' 41-10 loss. With Austin Pasztor expected to practice Wednesday for the first time since fracturing his right hand a month ago during a preseason game, the Jaguars could have him back in the starting lineup in that spot for their home opener Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts in a matchup of 0-2 teams.

As additional insurance at tackle, the Jaguars announced they added rookie Cody Booth to their practice squad. Booth had been waived by them Aug. 29.

Bradfield, who turned 27 last Sunday, signed a two-year contract in March to remain with the Jaguars. He started the final 11 games of last season for them at left tackle after Eugene Monroe was traded to the Baltimore Ravens and Luke Joeckel saw his rookie season ended by a fractured right ankle.

He started 12 games in 2012 at right tackle and appeared in nine games as a rookie in 2011 after making the Jaguars' roster as an undrafted free agent.

Why don't you propose another scenario where Cowboys try not to win. Keep up that loser mentality. Does Jstopper translate to "no mas"?

Nope, I'd rather talk about realistic plans not trading for retired guys who don't have to come back to us. And I plan on us doing very well this year.

I suspect one or more of the current tackles did not pass the informal running tests before camp held by the players.
Dallas is just doing more dumpster diving for cheap options that can take a pounding in camp. We are not trading picks
or picking up name players who are looking for big contracts. The time to pick up a vested veteran is after week one when
the contract does not become guaranteed. Camp is just a skip and jump away so keep those chins up!!!

Cowboys Expected To Sign Veteran Offensive Tackle Leading Into Training Camp

FRISCO, Texas – As training camp approaches, the Cowboys are expected to sign veteran offensive tackle Cameron Bradfield this week after they create an opening on their 90-man roster.

Bradfield was among a handful of free agents who had a scheduled workout with the Cowboys in June.
