Jameill Showers makes impression in extended work

It only works with the Cowboys. Take whatever they're doing, predict it won't work and they should have done the opposite. Say it sagely like you have the wisdom of long experience. If your credentials get challenged, quickly say that what really bums you out is that they've completely wasted the careers of Tony Romo and Jason Witten, two truly great Cowboys players. Pretty much that covers all your bases.
Furthermore, in the event that you are wrong, bask in the success of the team and disappear from all the negative posting for awhile, everyone else will be too busy celebrating and following forum rules to not call you out. Truly a win-win situation.

It takes no stones to predict failure.

I'm assuming you are referring to the Philly game in 2013? Lost 24-22,

30/46, 65% Completion Percentage, 358 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 85.2 QB rating. The question I have is why we were throwing 46 times with a Backup QB?
That loss was on the coaches.

Anyone else think this Showers kid has something? I was impressed by him last summer sounds like he's doing very well again. Hope we keep him around and maybe in 2 years him and Dak can battle for the starting job

I think he has something but it's not starter pedigree. As for him and Dak battling for the starter job a few years from now, I don't see it happening; neither look like potential starters.

LOL Jason G. was calling the plays, and like the GB game he ignored murray and the OL which was there except for Martin.
So yeah that was on the coaches.
The next year he switched to being a run heavy coach, and it worked.

O line was trash and Orton wasnt trusted beyond dinking and dunking the ball.

Actually oline wasn't trash. This was a the finale of 2013. We had the same line as 2014 minus Martin. Not committing to the run cost us that game. Not to mention Orton suspect throwing and decision making

Queue the Showers is the best option posts. Just like last year, people at this time wanted Showers over every other QB. Well, actually maybe he should have been...LOL....
I didn't think he was an answer last year, and I still don't this year. I do want to see how he has progressed, if he has truly progressed.

They still should just get off their high QB horse, and bring a QB in asap.

Look at what's out there to bring in... It's awful.

I do, I haven't seen him this year obviously but he has the physical skills to do it. Plenty of players look vastly better after their first year, practice squad or not. Guys like Dwayne Harris, Ron Leary -and Tony Romo for that matter. I'm obviously not saying Showers is Tony Romo but its still an open question whether he can be an NFL backup or not.

For those wondering about the status of rookie TE Rico Gathers as he makes the transition from basketball to football, the undrafted Traylor took snaps ahead of the sixth-round pick. Gathers has miles and miles to go before he is ready.

PS here we come.

I would be surprised if he made the practice squad. He hasn't played football since the 8th grade.

He's still in training, apparently.

I would be shocked if they threw in the towell that quick, but it sounds like somebody setting out to do a frame off classic car restoration and literally having to replace every panel.

Neither Showers or Prescott are the answer for the Cowboys as the primary backup this season or future starter after Romo who's career end is less than two years away......

So did you know Romo's future after his mediocre 1st 2 years?

Michael Vick? ... REALLY

If Showers has improved by leaps in one year as they say, then he's already better than the physically limited Kellen Moore. I wanted Showers to start last year. Prescott and Showers are Russel Wilson/Romo type playmakers that work well under fire and fit the team better than a strictly pocket passer, which failed miserably.

And yet if you predicted 4-12 and it turned into two play-off games, and you then self impose your penalty for mis-predicting by making a huge signature admitting you were wrong, and wearing it all off season, how does that work out for your lambaste of others on this board?

I mean are these scribes making strawman arguments against someone's opinion coming from those who predicted possible play-off outcomes for several years in a row where the team fell short and then kept their mouth shut and did not own up to it, like you claim others do?

Because I seem to remember years of hope being dashed on the rocks of poor seasons, and all those who were on the side of hope predicting same, were never taken to task for their gaffs at augury.

I find back biting to be one of the least attractive forms of personality on this board. Frankly it takes even less stones to ridicule someone else under the flag of team spirit.

The last pick was a killer.

PS here we come.

Complete goofy pick.

He has the arm and movement skills but his accuracy was terrible, lets see how much he has improved in a year.

I'm sure The Quest for Six appreciates this vague and yet occasionally-coherent support for what he brings to the board. Good stuff.
