I think so.....or at least gets the shot to take over. He still needs developing but has improved since we drafted him and he is no where near his ceiling yet

I don't think so. I believe he has the physical tools but I do not believe he can put it all together and become a successful starter. Sorry.

I can't see him being the future QB but I could be wrong.

I say no. You dont draft a guy with a comp 4 with they eye on him being the future at QB.

A comp 4th is a guy you hope can become a high end backup. At that point you are hoping for the next AJ McCarron

I see him as a guy who can win games if you surround him with a good defense.

Might be able to develop into an Alex Smith type player.

I don't think so as well. I don't think showers or Dak are the long term answers. When I say long term, I mean franchise qbs. Can they develop to functioning back up qbs? - maybe.

I also don't think that Hitchens is the long term answer at MLB and Gregory is the answer at DE. These are strictly my gut opinions.

He's got a shot, but the odds are long against him.

I disagree. When you draft a guy you draft based on where you think he will go. You draft based on "value". The Seahawks didn't' know Russell Wilson would be Russell Wilson. But they were willing to invest a 4th rounder in him just to see.

Even with Romo. Romo was here behind nearly everyone. They invested far greater in Henson but for some reason they kept Romo along. They didn't draft Romo. Not even a 7th rounder. But they were willing to give him a phone call and risk him being picked up by another team.

The NFL has a system. That system is draft based on measurables and game film. But what measurables and game film don't show is someone's heart. Someones potential. How they react to adversity. If you could measure that on film than these scouts jobs would be far easier.

But this is a land where Jamarcus Russell was considered the best QB prospect in the draft. Where Joey Harrington and Ryan Leaf were considered future HOF'ers.

So does this mean Dak will be Romo? No. Not at all. I'm just saying just because the guy was a 4th round pick doesn't mean they didn't value him or they only see him as a backup. I don't think you draft for "backups". Unless you are the 2009 Cowboys. But no real organization drafts for backups and says to themselves "You know what? This guy will be a GREAT BACKUP". When teams go into even the 7th round they are expecting to find a STEAL. Someone contribute for them at some point in their careers.
