Dallas Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said it as emphatically as he could Friday morning: Johnny Manziel is not going to play for the Cowboys.

"There's no chance," Jones said on CBS Sports Radio's "Tiki and Tierney," when asked if the Cowboys would consider signing Manziel. "Obviously Johnny needs to get his hands around his life. He needs to do the things that make him a good person off the field, I think, before he can ever be successful in our league."

"Unfortunately, he has some things that are holding him back not only as a football player, but as a person in life," Jones said. "We certainly hope he gets his hands around that because he's obviously a guy who has some very unique successes in his life."

If Romo gets hurt and were 2-10 the VP will change his tune.
I doubt it. Jerry probably would, but Stephen wouldn't allow it (for the 2nd time). Actually, I'm not even that sure Jerry would take him anymore.

How predictable. Jones emphatically stated something and it is met with he's lying.

I the feeling I got reading this earlier was that no not now they're not interested right now because he has to get his life together, but if he does SJ didn't say no.

To me..

its just a matter of time.

Like with Hardy..Dallas moved too quickly where they should have waited a year before signing Hardy..let the negative press stop then sign him for a cheaper deal.

That's what will happen to Johnnie. He'll be. Cowboy next summer when these backups can't fly.

Watch.

refreshingly candid and emphatic (minute chance I've been sucked)

It's really too bad after he got cut with Cleveland that he didn't go straight to rehab and then the gym. It must be because his family is rich. Most people would realize they have the brass ring and would want to get it back.

He would've made a fantastic backup for Tony. Oh well.

He should not be a consideration for any nfl team.
It appears he is not. I was never a fan, thought he was a bit too high on himself but hate to see anyone piss away their career as he has done
