Right this minute. Somebody behind the scenes is a sucker for second chances.

Honestly, Even if the there was no drinking problem, I just don't think he transitions as an effective NFL starting QB. He was a great colligate player but the NFL is too fast, smart and strong and he does not have the size, strength, speed and mentality much less maturity to play in the NFL. He's done.

This has alway been media driven. I bet the Cowboys scouts told the front office, flat out:The kid can't play

Sad waste of talent. I was in his corner until the GF thing... He crossed a line that I cannot forgive. He is a victim of his ego.

Johnny wants to party, not play football.
He evidently doesnt need the money either.

The kid has talent if he can get his life in order. I hope he does - he is exciting to watch

I hope he turns it around and can back into the league - not necessarily here but somewhere

Waste of talent right now

I don't think he ever plays in the NFL again. Manziel will be one of those cautionary tales to young players in a few years. Forget football, I just hope that for his own sake, he can get his life together.

He was never coming here. I never bought that Jerry wanted to draft him either...he was probably just being nice to him and his family. They are in the oil business, Jerry probably knows his grandparents.

But it's fun to say Jerry still wants an alcoholic, not good quarterback to further ones agenda

For those who can't see the logic in avoiding Johnny Manziel like the plague, it's time to realize his ship has already sailed and has sunk.

When the Joneses emphasize in no uncertain terms that the Cowboys aren't about to be Johnny Football's sucker, it's undoubtedly over.

For far too long already, the Cowboys organization has played the foolhardy game of catering to losers with no real inclination to change.

At this late date, they have finally and irrevocably decided to facilitate a much-needed change in policy and invite those losers to get lost.

You rarely hear the Jones make those types of absolute statements to the media. They'll typically be much more vague.

They must be real tired of people asking/talking about Manziel and the Cowboys.

No he won't. He doesn't have NFL talent. He won't ever be in the league again.
Has plenty of talent in the right offense, have seen many with lesser arm talent be quite successful. Johnny gets his head right he will be a Cowboy

I read his comments to mean this year. There is no way Manziel sees a team this year.

Although, I have a fear if Romo gets hurt again and Dallas doesn't luck into another top QB to develop that Dallas is going to get desperate and be willing to hold their noses for a guy like Johnny. I hope not, but I can certainly see it happening in a year or two. I can already picture the posts on these boards about how Johnny has changed and matured.
