ESPN: Johnny Manziel doesn't have future with Cowboys, per team VP

why in the world is this guy still being discussed? makes no sense to me..

Was about to type the exact same thing. I have no idea why it's still a topic. Or why people can read Jones saying it's not going to happen and conclude the exact opposite. And then criticize Jones for their own flawed conclusion.

The leadership, VP included, is less than intelligent
Overall..

becuz of who we are from the national media viewpoint being largely seen as annual failures for 20+ years..

its hard to get quality FA signing to workout.

We are just better off drafting and developing our own talent than try to sign guys like Hardy.

I just can't really remember any FAs that have helped us.

Was this thread created before Dak or after Dak's breakout games? Seems like a moot point now.

Sad thing is, Jerry wanted this guy badly. Let that sink in.

Perhaps Johnny Football concluded he just didn't have what it takes to play in the NFL and is trying to hide in a bottle.

It's just a way to criticize Jerry, to pretend that he wants Manziel so they can say Jones is an idiot. I still contend Jerry never wanted him, I've never believed all that draft day stuff

I think you're right.

No matter how many times I point out Tony came out after the draft and said he knew in advance they weren't taking Manziel, people don't want to hear it.

I still contend Jerry didn't either, he was just being nice
I will say this, the story that Stephen had to rip the card out of his hand so he didn't turn it in is the dumbest thing any Cowboys fans have ever believed. Jerry, at Valley Ranch in Irving Texas, was going to reach through the phone lines to turn in a card to the call receivers in New York City and they were going to hand it to Roger Goodell. Jerry might have admired the kid's college career, but people need to move past that. He was there and we passed on him for a better player. Period. Everything else is speculation and irrelevant and about as dumb as that card ripped out of his hand fairy tale.

How bad did he really want him?

I know you don't really have any idea but make something up for us.

I was at a Valley Ranch tour 2 years ago and McClay basically said they had to talk Jerry out of it.
